E89 security fix - any updates?

I don't have comfort access and got booked in OK, they took my reg number and rang back to confirm booking,

Just rang local shop booked in for the 11th Dec say they have about a thousand people to call and will take about
1.5hrs :tumbleweed:

Mine waqs in for its oil service on friday and my dealer said they should be in a position to roll out fix on non X vehicles during Dec but wouldnt make a booking and said I would be contacted , which didnt exactly give a warm feeling

Now I need a sticker on the Window that says don't break my glass I've been updated!

For those of you who have successfully booked your cars in for the fix - do any of you NOT have the Comfort Pack? I ask as when I tried to get booked in for the fix, I was first told that only X5s and X6s needed it and subsequently told that only cars with the Comfort Pack were vulnerable.

Having said all this, the dealer that gave me this information has not exactly impressed me thus far... :(

I can't see how the comfort pack would have any baring on this to be honest. :?

Agreed - that's exactly what I thought. Funnily enough a colleague of the chap who told me this informed me the week before that I could have the fix but that I would have to wait! I will be trying a new dealership soon, so at least this time I can say with certainty that other Z4 owners, who do not have the Comfort Option, have had the work done.

I have comfort access, and am booked in for next friday. though i dont think CA has any baring on any of this

I spoke to my local main dealer today and they said that only people who contacted them to ask for the fix will get it, but it's now available and will take about an hour.

Booked it in for next Friday. :)

I phoned my dealer. At first they said it wasn't out for me, then checked again when I said I knew others had booked in for it.

They also want my car for a whole morning for some reason, but a least it's getting done. I would have been happy to wait but they are going to give me a lift home.

Does anyone know if this will update anything other than the security flaw? It would be nice to get enhanced bluetooth functionality etc.

Note to self I must remember to disable my smartop.

There is a helpline 0800 083 4397
they will check your reg and email your dealer to contact you and log you

This is now an ALL BMW CAR Sept07 on recall

Phoned up BMW UK customer service last week, next day Park Lane BMW called - within 2 days car went in update done, and free clean inside / out (They did a good job).

Well handled by BMW, in my opinion and experience.

I think the dealers need to sort their act out, will find out Monday morning about 8.30 what they say about mine..thankfully mine wasnt nicked when in birmingham

Which dealership are you taking it to and did you have to prompt them?
