E89 Seats, non sports

My 2011 E89 has the bog standard seats. Drove 200 miles today and my back's buggered, really uncomfortable for most of the trip and the last 50 miles were very unhappy.

So my question to the learned members is... is it me? Or are the standard E89 seats cr*p?

TBH I still get a bad back with my sports seats. Same with the Merc and that's got all the adjustments under the sun.

Yet to find a car good for long runs but then I do have two herniated discs.

If you can't find comfort in Mercedes seats then you are looking at either major step up in ££ to the big league or a Saab 9-5 :D
With my own + 2 grown offspring our household currently has 7 different vehicles that i regularly move around & drive , the C Class is way out in front of the others which include Golf MK5 GTi , Golf MK4 R32 (Recaros) , 2011 Mini Cooper & the ZM
My father in law has a 55 plate 9-5 worth around £750 :o now that is in another league for driver comfort to them all

I drove almost 2,500 miles in a week on a recent road trip & arrived home feeling better than when I left, I'd say the e89 m-sports seats are super comfortable

Have to agree Rob the 89 Msport seats are a massive step up in comfort + quality from previous model seats

Saabs, we had a 900 Turbo in the late 80's, the seats in that were sublime :) torque steer a killer though!

My daily is an A8. OK totally different beast, but have done 1000 mile days in that car with no backpain problems.

I had a Saab 99 Turbo in the early 80's and those seats were tremendous!
Red velour but oh so comfortable. The seat / steering wheel/ pedals were all skew whif but it just worked .

Rob. Yes your memory serves you well. Leather with alcantra and the orange srtipe BMW have some fancy trim name for.

I think seats with adjustable lumbar support helps .

Have that in the Merc and hoped it would help but it doesn't. I guess I want too much. Two buggered discs and sciatica dog my days.

When there's structural damage to the body you've hit the nail on the head . Muscular is where seat form really helps.

With both my 35is and Mrs K 335 (similar seats ) I find that at about 200 miles or three hours, I need to get out and have a little wander about to flex the lower back muscles.
