Hi all

A few questions/assumptions on my behalf before undertaking my first e89 seat removal:

- the roof can be opened and left open safely with the battery off with no issues?
- the battery off procedure of disconnect for 20 mins same as e85 applies no issues?
- what Torx size are the 4 seat bolts

Thanks in advance!

Stuart

So open roof, roof in boot, how do you disconnect battery?

So disconnect battery, wait, unbolt and unplug seat, reconnect battery, open roof, lift out seat.
Don't forget with battery disconnected tie rag around one latch ring to stop boot dropping and latching.

That’s what I needed to know! Spot on thank you

Will that throw airbag codes?

Isn’t there room to disconnect the battery with the roof stored? Remove the boot floor panel first before storing roof?

Good luck with it Stuart and be careful with that car. If you find any money under the seats it's mine BTW! :D

I’ve already looked. Not a sou! 🤨

Good luck with the seat swap, adaptation, I've got room in my shed again now the seats aren't in there :D

You would be amazed Ian. When I took the seats out of my Z3 I found £17, 3 shillings and threepence. It is quite an old car TBF. :)

Oh...and a ration book!

The original seats are coming out this weekend to be stripped down. I have every confidence in Stuart.👍

I am loath to admit it but I remember ration books!
I knew I wouldn’t find any money under the seats because you would already have searched. 😀

Me and Lyndsay will have to have another drive over when the swap is complete, I'll come in the Z next time

That would be brilliant. I’d love to see the car. Once the job is done I’ll let you know. :tumbleweed:
