I came across this on ebay.

It’s not cheap, but as these get more scarce, it’s good that someone has taken the initiative. Perhaps they are a forum member?

I have seen a couple of posts recently about rear indicator strips failing, so could be a good option for someone. :driving:

I know its half the price of a new unit but still bloody expensive though at a minimum of £160 plus postage each taillight.

Brilliant find though and well done this guy for capitalising on an unbelievably widely needed situation !

83 miles away though

This vs. Chinese lights…….hmmmm

Given no supplies currently available, if you want to keep the car on the road…

I wonder if the repair enhances the ability to resist water ingress…?

Spoken to him; humming and hawwing over this vs the Chinese option.

I wonder how they separate the lens of the housing.

This way I did it?

Since closing/glueing 5 years ago my clusters are stable and still dry.

You could find out if there is some sort of guarantee on the work.

The Chinese lights have a cool novelty factor, but they seem to flash blue when you start the car. Would it get old fast?... Not to mention declaring as a modification to insurance?

When i replaced a tail light i had the old one and pulled apart, lens shattered, so wasn't careful.
I read discussion on ABS but i think the lens is acrylic. The base probably ABS.
ABS doesn't have the clarity of acrylic for lenses, having used them for traffic lights and testing at BSI.

For repairs i think would need supplier of not just leds but the other components in there.

Hi, As you might have seen from my other recent posts, I've actually used Clive's service very recently. He did for me exactly what he said he would and for a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate, based on my experience to recommend him to you.

I decided to throw caution to the wind and bought the Aliexpress ones. I shall certainly report back. The forum will win even if I lose; and Clive might win too if the Aliexpress ones are rubbish!! 🤣

Do you think they are legal in UK?

In Germany an (E) logo has to be on the glass to be legal. Would be nice if you could search for it when arrived...

Ob das Ding eine E-Nummer hat, oder nicht, ist allerdings schon interessant und relevant &: .

Should be sth. like this:

Can be no worse than BMW tail lights, the indicators are dangerous in daylight. Anything other than looking straight at them they cant be seen and then not very bright in day light.

Robbi-it's a valid point, and not one I could ascertain through Aliexpress. For £300 I'm willing to have a go and find out.

If they are not E-legal I will sell them on to someone with a track car - or - I will use them whilst I get my standard ones refurbished by Clive, then have them as backups/whatever.

The standard lights' indicators and reverse light are unacceptably terrible so it's a potential, if risky win.

Or I will fall in love with them and swap them out at MOT time!
