E89 rear drivers side window not working

Hi All,

Just in time for the UK spring weather my rear drivers side window has stopped working, halting me enjoying roof down motoring!

I can hear clicking but no movement or motor noise. I suspect regulator has broken / seized.

Any other suggestions / advice on how I access the regulator? I've searched the Internet and can't find any guides so is perhaps quite uncommon?

Thanks
Adam

Had same problem on mine could hear clicking noise for both up and down press of switch but no movements. I got a can of WD 40 with a straw spay extension and poked it between glass and rubber and move it about to give a good dosing from both inside and outside of car. Left it overnight - tried in next morning and worked fine-never happened again.
Like you I couldn't find any info on ho to remove interior trim to get at at window workings.
Hope it works on yours.

Well, in that case a code reader might be helpfull. The ISTA tool will even display the current positions of the windows.

Hi All,
Just got the z4 back from the garage.
Blocked drain holes causing the regulator to sit in water and seize.
Second hand regulator and motor from ebay and 4 hours labour and the problem is fixed.
Thank you all for your advice and enjoy the summer.
Thanks
Adam

Where exactly on the E89 are the drain holes? I have searched here and seen references that there are not any on an E89.

However I thought I had a leak and the garage said they couldn't find anything but cleaned out the drain holes. I have not had any issues since.

I didn't think the E89 had drain holes either, totally different design to the E85.... where are they?
