E89 performance problem

I fitted my genuine Oem performance black kidney grills this morning. However, I've had no performance increase. Surely being black, they should make my car quicker.

Thinking of asking for money back. :x

Any other owners been disappointed with the power output from the black grills? I thought by going Genuine bmw, the performance increase would be 30bhp. Do they only work if combined with a M badge?

PVR sold the stock grilles for my car, else I'd swap back and let you know if it slowed me down. The black grilles definitely make you look like you're going faster... Maybe you need to get M tri-colour coverings for three of the slats - might improve the air flow enough to get it in the engine faster :lol:

You also need some M badges for an extra performance boost.

Definitely an M badge on the other grille to balance to power from the M stripes, else you'll continually be going sideways.

Good point. I will do this once I have tidied up the lower bumper grills (looking a bit shabby compared to my nice shiny black grills). I'm really pleased, the black grills do freshen up the front end. Wish i'd done it earlier!

you need to turn up the volume and press the loud button on harder and longer!
