Many years ago i had a 2.8 Z3. The child No.1 came along and we coped but child No.2 and and another year and it just wasnt getting used so had to go.
Fast forward 10 years and I have took the plunge and gone for an E89 20. I went into it totally naive. No test drive, very little research but i just loved the looks. Took me about 5 weeks to et to the price i wanted with BMW but on the 31st January we struck deal.
Well after 4 or 5 weeks of ownership i do love it.
16 Months old 16,000 miles with remainder of manufaturers warranty and a 50,000/5 year service pack. I get to use it maybe 4 days a week and have really enjoyed it.
I served an electrical apprenticeship in the 80's and went on to be an Electrical Engineer and now carry out a variety of projects overseas from Heavy Power to control and instrumentation.
I have 2 projects that never seem to get anywhere Project 1 Day is a 1975 Porsche 911 Targa and Project 1 Day + 1 is a 1958 series 2 Land Rover
I do enjoy anything mechanical and Engineering but car maintenance these days is more of a chore than a hobby.
