E89 Mway muncher

I managed 3000 Miles to the Spanish border and back this summer in mine. Superb car for summer cruising down to the beaches of southern France.

On my runs down thro the Netherlands and on to south west Germany plus running around while there in the hilly / alpine type of the area, I get 30 :32 mpg which I think is superb. My speed is sensible / law abiding thro the Netherlands motorway system then 80/90 on the German Autobahn and 120 /130 when allowed and Mrs K didn’t squeal too much! All top down as well :thumbsup:

All in all I would say good mpg for such a car.

I should say tho that I did not buy the car for economy reasons. Hence a 35is and not a 1.8
 
Well i'll be happy if I get 30-32 I was only expecting 28-30 out of my S2000 but got 33-34
I did get over 30mpg when I drove the Zed back from Manchester, but was stuck in traffic for quite bit

My 30/32 was over a three week mixed driving run.
 
I like 100mph on the Autobahn on a long run - I find it’s a good speed and less stress when doing a long trip - but it would be rude not to give it some grief sometimes!

After my Germany trips I find the U.K. motorway very pedestrian - and how cr4p lane discipline is in this country.
 
My drive up to Norwich at the weekend on M4, M25, M11, A11 got me there with around 35mpg. I was in no hurry so I kept it to around 80mph all the way.
On the way home on Sun the weather was awful and I was crawling in slow, stop/go traffic but I still arrived home with around 32mpg.

I've never seen more than 28mpg out of my 35iS, mixed use is around 26 (pretty much in line with my last 981S) and giving it beans drops to closer to 20..not bought for economy though, I leave that to the 520d..
 
My day-to-day drive to work is nearer to 26. 28 if I use manual mode and short-change gears which I am doing when it's slippery. I didn't buy it as an economy option though, otherwise I'd have gone for one of the 2.0 engine cars.
 
Nope I didn't buy mine for economy either.
Wouldn't have bought one with a smaller engine though I'd have kept the S2000
 
Just got back to Cornwall after picking up a 30i in Preston, did 80mph as much as possible (road works and couple of breakdowns) and the average for the journey was 37.6mpg. Quite impressed.
