E89 Market watch

Title of this long running thread is "E89 market watch" I simply added to the general subject, not aimed at anyone
While in my view it's the best priced and spec'd one on there at present I'm not really up for giving it away...

Fair enough. I got confused with what thread it is!

Yes I've just agreed a deal on Zed #14 so the E89 is back for sale and this time with a new battery and 2 new rear MPS4S tyres

I couldn't find hardly any E89 iS out there pre owned
There are 18 on Autotrader all prices to choose from.

How many left lists 398 licensed and 17 SORN..... Hence it's sort after as it's quite a rare car. (If it had an M on it prices would be ridicules)

25 35i on AT too to add to your search

Obviously they are all good looking but if you are after a red MSport version this is currently the cheapest on Autotrader and I doubt there is a better spec'd non-iDrive model available that is as sorted as this

What are peoples thoughts on this one? Very low miles but quite basic in terms of equipment. Is it a tad pricey given the equipment level or about right?

Pretty basic spec bar heated seats and PDC…paying a premium for both low miles and a dealer…

I think PDC sensors and heated seats should be treated as a given on these cars, shouldn't they? That makes the spec even worse.

They do come fairly well equipped as standard though to be fair.

I'd happily have an e89 M sport with PDC F&R, Heated Seats and an upgraded sound system.

Leather, Xenons, Nice wheels and other bits are standard anyway.

Just for context; I have a 2013 car with the same mileage and a better spec. I would expect to get around £10k for it at present as a private sale. It's not for sale BTW!

Understood, lol.

I'm a bit nervous of private purchase. Maybe because I've never done it. Something I need to overcome, I guess

If it's because you think you may buy a 'lemon' then an RAC or AA inspection can help immensely. Will still be a lot cheaper than paying dealer premiums if you don't have to (finance px etc).

If you buy a car with a BMW insured warranty you will have a good level of safety.
The warranty requires a proper / verified service record and is transferable to a new owner.

It would certainly reduce the worry factor for me!

My car is £23k trade in value and circa £29k dealership selling price and a bmw warranty- if I was selling it privately you would be getting nothing less than a dealer would be offering?

Ie fully serviced , with a history and a warranty!

Ps not selling!

If you do buy privately, go to the garage that serviced the car and ask about its service record and any remedial work done - They will probably want to continue with your business and give you a potted history.
