Like many I’ve looked at price is marked down to lack of goodies...no heated seats, no idrive, no cruise, I assume basic radio, non m sport version...but still a lot of car for those not afflicted with I need goodies syndrome..

Yet another eBay scam:

Agreed the goodies are limited but still a decent price for a yellow zed

I don't think a yellow Z4 is worth anymore than other colours if anything most dealers will see it being a marmite colour and harder to sell so worth less.

Many buyers, myself included would have definitely gone for the Atacama Yellow. The only thing that stopped me at the time was, they were only available for the 1st Gen E89s and every one seen lacked the iDrive. As you say, marmite. I love Marmite 8).

The goodies are far more important, such a basic spec will be hard to shift.... in this day and age a wrap sorts out any colour preference.

Long post alert, but seems to be the right place!

Been looking at Z4 prices and finding it really hard to value my own... it is such a nichè car with some really tasteful modifications and spec. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated!

Z4 35i DCT M Sport, 57k miles, extensive service history, just been fully serviced with uprated spark plugs etc, cruise control, heated seats, front and rear pdc, Pro navigation with hard-drive, wind deflector, folding mirrors, media package with Hi-Fi audio and USB etc. Coded in roof down in motion and digital speedo.
Custom exhaust with quad exit, stepped intercooler, MHD Stage 1+, Intake Kit, PB 6pot BBK with braided lines and Millers Racing Fluid, genuine forged M4 wheels and MPSS, full LED light conversion and more!
What do people think???

True some will go for it but they aren't worth more than other colours.

Everyone else on here is too polite to say as they are a very reserved bunch who don't like to offend; but I'm not

if you were to advertise it on here, I reckon £5, and be open to offers.
On Demon Tweeks, I reckon £50,000.

You did ask! :D

I think yellow and orange are the best colours and pretty rare so will sell quicker or at a higher price depending on how quickly you want to shift the car.

Not many peopler worried about toys, most will tell you heated seats are the only real thing they want, everything else is a bonus.

I like Atacama Yellow because at least it's a colour rather than some shade of Silver/Grey/Black. (Like I have. )

But I'd much rather have Valencia Orange, Deep Sea Blue or Melbourne Red.

With all due respect an E89 Msport HAS to be white, there is no other colour. All these other pretences are just wrong; custard, blood, brown or blue. You know they are wrong. :P

Pondrew (boring alpine white E89. Colour code 300 FYI) :D

With all due respect for me any car has to be a colour - and white isn't a colour. :P

White E85/86s were rare for a reason, but E89 buyers seemed to lack taste/imagination!

I think colour / spec choices vary as a function of time and maybe other factors....

Things like stand alone factory sat navs age quickly...options like PDC/heated seats/cruise/decent stereo don’t...

Colours are fickle...people are dribbling over the orange versions now, but when I first looked a couple of years nobody seemed to want them.

Some people just seem to be colour blind/agnostic..

Some people like a strong contrast between interior and exterior finishes..

Many people rush into buying under spec German cars and then repent later at leisure..

Some people are focussed on engine design / size / power

Best to remember that forums like this have very little to do with what most people do ...

Personally as far as 2nd generation Zeds are concerned for me colour/spec/mileage/age/cost are my declining importance criteria...others have already stated other views..

Given that there were so many colour/ spec variations over time the good news is there is an option for everyone ..providing they are willing to pay
