Prices do seem all over the place from £300 to £800.
One thing is for sure is that there isn't a large buying market for them.
I hear that the standard seat in the E89 is actually quite a good seat so people are not that fussed to upgrade them. Those who don't have heated seats end up with quite the task to install heated seats into the car and make them work and they are put off.
They don't seem to come up on ebay very often for this reason so look out for breakers breaking E89's and contact them directly.
Foreign breakers give the best deals but they are quite grumpy to deal with.

I upgraded my SE seats to the Sport ones in my E89 a few years ago, took me a while to find ones in the condition I wanted (car had only done 15k miles). Eventually, I paid £400 (delivered) direct from a dismantlers. The SE seats then sold within a week for £200 (collected), the SE seats actually allow more room in the cabin (more like the seat you find in a Boxster - no separate headrest), the Msport ones are more bulky. Try the dismantlers first over Ebay, you'll get a better deal, I also managed to get an Msport steering wheel with the newer paddle shift style for £100... bargain.

Huge thanks for Rob(Usel) - just fitted a set of E89 sport seats to my E85. Rob’s kit made life really easy for a straight bolt in!

Wiring was all good too. Can confirm that the seat occupancy on facelift models works by replicating the original wiring positions. Simply pinned out the main connector from the E89 and refitted to E85 connector block in the same positions.

That is great news to hear the occupancy sensor works in facelift cars. I had a positive feeling that it would work but didn't have a facelift car to test on.

The seats look great btw and well done for being brave enough to have a go at it

It's a shame you can't replace the stitching on the door cards to orange to match. It's basically impossible or not worth the effort for end results.

You have to cut out the centre leather section out which is high up there on the difficulty levels. Once out you would have to remove the leather off the panel and restitch it. Then glue the leather back on and finally glue the leather panel back on. It would be hours and hours of work.

I have removed the leather section before for a friend to swap out for a different colour panel. I did it successfully but I wouldn't do it again.

Cheers Rob!

Absolutely, I’m thinking about going for exactly the same they did on the E89 Hyper Orange and use an orange alcantara on the door panel which will pull it together more. They do look like a pain to strip, did one on my F31 and it was a right game.
I’ll source a couple of spares to have a go at!

Don't even attempt without one of these:

You'll also need a big flat bladed screwdriver. Once cut, where possible, you have to crack the welds apart again because of the heat from the cutting tool slightly welds them back together again. The rectangle section where the airbag would go has to be cracked apart with only the screwdriver as you can't cut it. You have to be brutal. It feels like you will break something you need but luckily the bits you need are stronger than the welds.

I did the second door card in around 20 mins. The first took a lot longer.

I have some spare door cards. If you really want to do it then buy mine and I'll crack the panels off for you.

This is what the panels look like removed:

That’s really useful thanks. The multitool is a good shout, used a dremel with a cutter last time but I’m sure that will be tidier.

I’m going to have a go at seeing what I can retrieve off the e89 door cards and see what’s useable in terms of the alcantara.

Also consider I could send you those panels that I've removed and are wrapped in cloth. You can then wrap those instead with the trim from the E89 door cards to see if you get the results you're happy with before going further.

Let me know if you want them, just pay postage. I'll hold onto them until you know what you're doing

Ok so I'm doing this and bought all the plugs and pins etc (£60) and the guide is easy to follow so far but I've got to the heated seat bit and need some guidance on what pins go on which wires and into which position on the plug? Or have I missed that?
The old seats are still in my E85 and they aren't heated and I want to get the wiring sorted so I just take them out and put the new ones straight in.

TIA

Did this swap to mine today. Great guide and nice and easy to follow.

I got the seats for bargain on eBay for £185 for the pair, but the problem was they were pick only from Poole, I'm in Norfolk. So a days driving, but worth it.

Now the heated seat wiring just to make it easier for others.

And into the plug.

Now the only problem is that my car didn't have heated seats, I bought the buttons for the centre console.
So if anyone is breaking a E85 and isn't bothered about the loom and want to butcher it for the connectors from the fuse box to centre console and to the plugs that go into the main connectors under the seats I would like to buy them.

[ref]Jollygiant[/ref], good job, but crikey it was grim under your seats! At least there was some cash though!
I hope you got this all cleaned up. E89 seats look really comfortable.

Yeah I cleaned and washed the carpets before putting the new seats in. Just a shame I count take it out for a test drive.
