I'm so excited that after months of research, a sheet of marine ply, nearly buying a £650 carbon Splitter to spray black and endless emails to companies I've finally found someone to design and produce an M Performance style front Splitter for our e89's!!

It will be a CNC cut item.

I've just purchased a second hand bumper for the guy to use so I hope I'll be able to update all within a few weeks!

The cost will be under £200.

Who would be interested?

It will look like this...

I'm certainly interested, depending on how it looks.

+1 Can't visualise how it will look. The bottom of the bumper isn't flat/straight with the vents under the headlamps sloping upwards towards the centre of the bumper if that makes sense. (Just found this photo)

Steve.....will the splitter be a moulding as per the photo or is it going be cnc'd out of flat sheet?

The goal as something more like this...

I will ask re the rounded edges.

At this stage I'm not sure what the finished product will be but I hope whatever it is that it looks good and offers good value as the carbon fibre options are a lot of money if you don't want exposed carbon!

Quick update!

The bumper has been received so I've been sent some ideas...

Thoughts please??

I really like it, it started out too big so I asked to scale it down quite a bit. There's a few challenges to overcome but looking at this chaps other work I'm confident it will look fantastic.

He's going to cut one out and send it to me to mount before having it CNC machined.

I'll keep you all updated.

Thanks for the update Steve......still not sure how he'll address the gap between the splitter and the vent part of the bumper that slopes towards the centre. Any thoughts?

He's spoken to me about some sort of nylon material which will sandwich between the splitter and the bumper. The centre part will be open.

Fair enough. Wasn't suggesting you should buy one. Just pointing out the design and how to solve the gap problem you had.

Cheers Steve.........can't wait to see the finished article.

I'd be interested in a CF one, if that's an option?

He will also produce a Carbon skinned one. I've specifically asked for an OEM finish like the BMW Performance items as I have no CF on my car and it seems silly to put CF on a front Splitter that is bound to scrape on the floor on a lowered car!
