e89 i6 preferred

Hi all

Looking to get back into an e89 as an occasional car, my X5 will do most of the heavy lifting. Budget £11k ish perhaps a little more. For my budget im not expecting an msport and it doesn't need to be tbh - I'm getting a bit old for the harshness, lol. Would prefer 23i or 30i... probably 30i if there is one but they're sparse at the moment. Not white (had white before and although i like a white e89 - the boss say it has to be different) or red and not keen on black (the X5 is black - enough said!).... so not too demanding  Obviously, with as few miles as I can get into.

If anybody happens upon anything, I'd appreciate a nod although I'm not desperate and can wait.

Thanks for looking, Ade

Just in case you dont know, there is no M model in the E89 lineup.
The models are SE or Msport.
The biggest differences between these 2 models are suspension, front and rear bumpers, seats, steering wheel, gearstick and a few other less noticeable things like door sill plates and badges.

Yeah, I know. I was meaning msport

I'll update it.

To be honest I'd be looking for an M-Sport if possible just for the seats.

Anyway good luck finding the right one.

I might be wrong but don't think I'll get into an msport with my budget. We'll see, though.

What's the deal with wheels, too? One reason for shying away from msport before was because of cracking wheels. Is it all wheel styles that crack or mainly 326?

Not all SE cars have standard seats you have to look individually at each car. I have a SE and it had more extras than any of the Msports I looked at.

To be fair, the SE I had had sports seats now I think about it. Not much else though :D

There’s a 3.0 e89 in the for sales at the moment in DSB, manual. Looks nice. Has 18” wheels.

From what I understand all large alloys are prone to cracking. The major factor seems to be whether the car has runflat tyres. I've got 326s on mine without any problems. 326s are probably the most popular alloys for the E89 so you probably are going to see more of them damaged. 296's were also highlighted but I've also seen other large bmw alloys with the same problem. I believe that the G29 doesn't have runflats surprise surprise.

This one could be worth a look. Anybody know the dealer?

A few people on the forum have bought from this dealer (E85/E86) and his cars are usually good quality and well presented. I believe he’s not very flexible on price. Car doesn’t have iDrive, not sure what else it has.

I think he’s a relatively trust worthy dealer

Thanks.

I sent you a PM yesterday. Did you receive it?

I only ask because I can't see it in my sent messages.

Just seen you're pulling your advert so the PM is no longer relevant

Feel free to send another if you like, I’m not pushing on with a sale at this point and listing elsewhere… but happy to chat
