E89 fitted luggage

I use two good very quality fabric squashy holdalls by Ellehammer that fit perfectly neatly in the "roof down" space and a further thin roll that goes in front of that again using the usable space. Total cost - first one fee with Tesco and the second one £40. That said they seem to be no longer available. Gets enough in for a week travelling (if going to a warm country).

Mornin,
They went to me. I’ve arranged to meet on Monday to collect and pay as he’s passing where I work, which is the M1.
I’ve been after some since I got my Z4, I had them in a Z3 a few years ago. Love the quality and as we can’t fly anywhere I’ve got them so we can go away any bloody where soon, need a holiday!!!
Thanks very much for the original link, much appreciated and one of the many reasons I rejoined here, I don’t say much but I’m there!!
Cheers all
Mick.

Before I bought my Zed I was sure I wanted custom fit bags, but after looking in my junk room at the variety of luggage I already own due to the differences in airline dimensions I decided against it.

We want to take a road trip around SW France sometime so I'll probably just do some Tetris with what we already have!

That’s me “encouraged” you to spend money on the SmartTop and now these

Glad you got a bargain

I totally agree, one of the great things about this forum.

Cheers Andy, yes I spotted that, although generally I go somewhere, unload the luggage and stay for a few days , so not being able to drop the roof for that journey isn't such an issue. I like the fact the two top ones go over the shelf- which is good use of a hard to use space.

Trying to understand why you would even pull the partition down at all if you arent planning to put the top down... why not just leave it back and put larger bags in? Am I missing something?

I’ve done both in the past, bigger normal bags and the fitted stuff. Having been sat in traffic jams and made slow progress on A roads, Just having the facility to drop the roof, which is why we all bought convertibles, is a bonus. I did a drive to Croatia in a previous Z, temperatures around 26 to 44, it would have been lovely to drop The roof but I had normal bags so couldn’t. When I got back I bought my first fitted bags, never really considered anything else since.
It’s each to their own of course, finances etc all need to be considered but I would always get the fitted ones now. Of course, no bloody good on EasyJet or Ryanair if you want them as cabin bags!!!!
