E89 First drive thoughts.

Drove her back 100 miles today albeit motorway miles.

Just took her out for a little Lane spin and here I my thoughts not that they are worth owt on my first run.

Looks beautiful, without sounding a trumpet I’ve had a few cars from differing manufacturers all what you could call prestige but this and my first 911 will be up there in my favourites.

Drive wise, I thought it seemed to be revving high on the motorway, sounds wise, 70mph she was sitting around a two and half grand? Maybe this is the BMW engine.

She also seemed lack lustre but I have a very light foot, and when I put it in sports mode it livened up.

Handling wise, it’s no mx5 or booster but I doubt it was meant to be, it’s gorgeous as a cruiser, and gorgeous looking as a car but I doubt I’ll rag it round the Nurburgring yet.

I’ve still not seen another one on the road, and it’s very early days yet, but I could be falling for this one :)

Like most cars I’ll be tinterweb trawling tonight looking for subtle mods :)

It’s a 2.3 auto. It was a “meet in the middle” purchase, I wanted a new Ducati, and the wife didn’t :)

You aren't ever going to be bowled over with a 23i auto in terms of straightening your arms & back hitting the seat but you will enjoy a straight 6 cruiser that as you have noticed still looks terrific 11 yrs after release .
I suspect this may be a "first" Z before upping the spend  & you wouldn't be alone in that respect .
Enjoy it , not crazy money , decent build quality , very little to go wrong & a really great cabin makes them a good used purchase

There speaks the voice of experience. But yes, Z4s can be addictive!

You car looks great OP and I can see why you may be falling for it.

As for revving high on the motorway, around 2.5K at 70 doesn't sound excessive. If the 23i version of the N52 engine is the same as the 3.0 litre version in the E86 it does rev to 7,000!

Now you just need to be a bit firmer with your right foot on the fun pedal. :driving:

Nice colour combination enjoy it, Ive had a 23i auto for the last 6 years and its been a fantastic reliable car
