E89 engine oil recommendation

Would anyone be able to advise me the best and type of engine oil to purchase for my e89 3.0 auto 2010 reg as I am thinking to do the change myself :?

Also how many litres will I need to re-fill after draining the old oil, any help appreciated.

BMW advises Castrol, but that is probably a marketing tie-in.
