Just a quick question what is the range of engines available in the 89 line up I've got a 3.0si Coupe at the moment and just checking out the next car (maybe next year)??? Are there two 2.0 engines with different BHP?? Like the sound of 306 BHP Msport but to expensive I fear !!!!!!!!
Cheers

Current and Prior engine lineups:

N20, 20i and 28i guises output 184bhp and 250bhp respectively. 4 Cyl model.
N52, 23i and 30i guises output 204bhp and 258bhp respectively. 6 Cyl model.
N54, 35i and 35is guises output 306bhp and 340bhp (temporary overboost) respectively. 6 Cyl model.

Try and go for a test drive in the different models you are interested in, ideally back to back if they are available from the same dealer.

The E89 is heavier that the older Z4s, so a test drive is the best way to compare performance and how the car feels compared to your current car.

You'll want an N54 equipped Z4 though once you've been for a test drive :driving:

Thanks for the info, being sensible, you would have to consider the N20 28i, BUT  the N54 35i just seems right.
Any views from members who have moved from E86 to E89 most welcome
Cheers Mark..........

Ive moved from an E86 3.0si coupe to an E89 Sdrive20i M Sport ( the smallest engine ) and can honestly say im not disappointed. The turbo is great and feels just as quick around town. Its just the mid range where you notice a difference in power. However; its not as much difference as you may think.

That cobbled with great MPG and running costs makes for a great all rounder :D

Fantastic looking car  thanks for your comments, plenty to consider and check up on. OH and hopefully save some cash ???????
