Well this has been a pretty good year for me and to top it off I recently landed an amazing new job. The only problem is the commute across Nottingham I'm constantly stuck in traffic for between 45 minutes and an hour and just touch 50mph during the final moments of my journey.
Now I know I could get the use public transport answer. The reality is not having the car after work really messes things up for me getting to commitments I have after work such as playing football, music lessons etc
My main question is am I going to damage the car doing this kind of journey every day ? A one way trip is around 13 miles and the engine does get up to temperature due to length of the journey but as I said it's constantly stopping and starting and at low speed. Obviously fuel economy is awful but I can accept this. I'm just concerned I'm not doing the car any favours.
I have not had my new Z4 for long it's a 2.5 23i and I adore the car it would break my heart to part with it so soon. I don't really want to have to own a second car either due to the associated costs.
From January I'm joining a new gym nearer to my new work so I can go first thing. This should help with the journey in the morning as I would be leaving the house around 6:30 and miss most of the traffic. The journey home would still be pretty crap.
Just looking for some general advice on this the car has only do 35k and it's servicing will be kept fully on top off as I always looks after my cars with regards to maintaining it. I just don't want to wreck the car doing these kinds of journeys every day.
