E89 Battery

When I purchased my E89 in November I was getting the battery discharge warning on the dash. I was then getting the car on a lift ramp indicator but no further info which was worrying. This happened when I was sorting the radio and installing my blue tooth device to the aux port

Took it to my local independent expert who did a full diagnostic on it. There were loads of faults from roof issues through to lighting and radio. He told me that this was very symptomatic of a failing battery so we ordered one which he fitted and coded in for me. He was able to tell me that the faulty unit was in fact the original item. He cleared all of the faults and since then touch wood :headbang: there have been no further warnings

Personally I would not mess around with connecting additional batteries or the like, I think that is asking for expensive trouble

Don't understand why people are messing with batteries.
If it needs changing, go to good battery supplier who can fit and recode...and be done with, peace of mind.

I did mine at Halfords, together with the salesperson, we whipped the battery out, fitted the new, he plugged his resetter into the obd port, 1 minute later all done.
And i did notice my lights were brighter.

Bloody low battery sign again!

Now had decent new battery fitted. Looks like that was an unnecessary bill.
Still getting the battery icon if I pull up, cut the engine and leave the radio on.
Takes 2 or 3 mins.
The only other errant sign that very occasionally shows is roof not closed. Otherwise, everything seems fine.
On my old cars there are gauges and lights that show if the battery is not charging properly.
