E89 Alloys

Hi there, I’m Chris based in Northern Ireland and seem to be having a run of bad luck!

Replaced two rear tyres, but one of the alloys required welding which I got done. Two weeks later, the brand new tyre has a puncture (that is unrepairable apparently), and the weld also hasn’t worked, so I am now looking to see what alloys / tyres are best to go for at a reasonable price.

I love the oem look with the 236 alloys I have on at the minute – they are 19s.

Hopefully someone can shed a bit of help as I am totally lost!

It’s a white z4 with black vinyl roof, pic attached hopefully.

Thanks,
Chris

The 326 wheels are prone to cracking, especially if you are on run flat tyres.
If you are, would suggest going to normal tyres which helps lower the risk of cracks.
Unfortunately welds dont always work.
I switched to Veeman wheels which are a better alternative tried by many on the forum, and considerably cheaper than genuine Bmw replacements.

Great colour combo and details ! I had the same with my 19inch. 296s. Ended up with 18s and a bit more compliance which was quite welcome. Non runflars as everyone has suggested. BMW didn’t really get their suspension sorted on run flats until the F series cars.

WIth 326Ms...its those that have cracked them and thrown them away, those that have welded them and waiting for the next crack and those yet to have a crack, coz they drive like Miss Daisy, once a year, on a smooth road :tumbleweed: ...

The 326m’s crack even with non run flats. Depends how lucky how you feel. Do you feel lucky…. ? 😆 I have two sets. 😁

19s on E89s seem to be prone to cracking, especially with run-flats.

I had a set of 295s on my previous E86 for over a year and even with Bridgestone run-flats never had ant issues (they were standard fit on the 35is I think).

So if you can live with 18s they may be a less troublesome option.

Nothing to do with wheel and tyres ... I love the black and white detail, and perhaps even the elevated rear spoiler.

Thanks guys. CM wheels are getting back to me on Monday hopefully – hopefully get something that’s in their Black Friday thing as well!

I can’t seem to get my hands on a set of the 326 anywhere, and to be honest, as much as I love them, I’d just expect them to crack again anyway.

Right now, I can’t drive the car at all because I haven’t got a spare so need to sort something as soon as possible.

I know the 19s are a risk no matter what I do, but I do love the look they give.

On my previous e86 I had CSL replicas which I absolutely loved!
