Sold from the Piston heads advert, to a non forum member.
They got a great deal I think, compared to the ambitious prices on AT it seems, market isn’t acknowledging the iS yet. Plus I think the scaremongering on forums and FB puts people off.
For ref I dropped to 13.5 to close the deal.
They have feedback, “love it” …. Is great car, will miss it , now to find something else..,,
M2? G29 ? A110?
Hell of a lot of car for 13.5!
I think the e89 "is not a proper sports car" narrative puts off the kind of people who would go for a 35is... they end up in a Boxster and all the Z4 buyers are happy with a 20i.
Not sure the market will ever acknowledge the 35is to be honest, it's never been particularly sought after or loved - which is probably part of the appeal for me...
Well yes I guess so...... As Mr Wilks will know you'd struggle to find a car so well spec'd, only things I found missing was DAB (strange that one) and heated wheel which I think came out slightly later and wasn't available at the time.
If only it had worn the M badge ! how we might speculate.... even though it's engine was so similar to the much now praised 1M (Thanks to Chris Harris I guess).
I may end up being one that buys a Boxster/Cayman, I am looking. Interesting the mileage paranoia seems a lot less on them, even if they are potentially more expensive to fix and maintain. (looking at 987 G2 or 981)
Great car, I was on the fence as to just daily it and pile the miles on and drive it to the moon..... with a fix on failure approach. I did have several enquiries on what had been "fixed", it almost a disappointing to some that the car hadn't had lots of problems!!! Kind of makes me think they are general pretty solid, with just natural wear and tear you get on any used Z4. If every owner does a little bit of maintenance these Zeds will last for ever, share the cost and the love.
Anyway I sold it for some else to enjoy rather than "run it into the ground". Sold with a clear conscience, fully serviced, any issued fixed and 13 month MOT.
As the buyer said on the road test "You'd never get bored of that sound" (Sport mode, sport shift, 5K rpm and lift off...

)
I'm a 6 cylinder or buy something else person LOL.....
I'll hang around, it's a great forum, shame I'll miss Shepshed this year. (As I can't get the wife interested in another E85 as a cheap summer run around)
