E89 35i Vanos Solenoids

I have had an issue with my Vanos solenoids, I read somewhere someone mentioned the BMW genuine ones aren’t great and are prone for going on the E89, but I cannot remember the brand they said to go for instead

Is this correct or should I just get BMW genuine ones
 
It is definetly Vanos solenoids in this case, the OBD read Vanos intake, we swapped them round and it switched to exhaust fault code so it is that 1 solenoid that’s not good but I’ll just get a pair

Although I have heard a lot about camshaft edge seals too
