E89 30i N52 won't start, no crank.

I bought this car from an insurer as a write off. The car did previously run albeit a little rough. Today I changed the oil and filter as well as the coolant. The oil was fine, no leaks and I could see from the dash that I had put enough in (6.5 litres). I then followed the procedure to bleed the coolant system by initiating the electric water pump. I then started the car.. All went fine so left it running to get up to temp. An engine management light came on about 10 mins into running so knocked it off. It will no longer start. No crank etc.

I plugged my carly adapter and I'm seeing the attached codes, where's the best place to start?

First place to go is the battery, what voltage is it at?
Have you tried a jump start?
Try clipping a jump start lead from the engine to a chassis earth, if it starts you have a bad earth cable from the engine block to the chassis.
Don't start buying starters, solenoids, alternators hoping to get a good guess, get an auto electrician in, it'll be a lot cheaper.

Put the key in the car so its beeping with the doors open, check the voltage across every single fuse on the fusebox, with a voltmeter, not a light.

Try tapping the top of the starter motor, watch this from 2:20 https://youtu.be/PQX3YrNnu5Y

there's plenty of posts out there about solved cases, they may not fit yours 100%, but can give you ideas where to look and what to check
once you got the feel of trying to fix your issue, just go for it
there's a first time for everything

Get a length of wood and put it against the starter motor then tap the other end with a mallet. Most likely new starter required.

Hi All, thanks for your help. After working my way from the battery to the front everything read OK, no voltage drop when starting etc. I then put a jump cable on the block and chassis and Boom she fired up so tomorrow's job is to find out where the bad earth point is at. Does anyone know where the usual places are on the E89?
