Know those roads well learned to drive up there (very very long time ago)
Hope you enjoy your new car, thinking of the same move from E86
Let us know how the cars compare

I'm still trying to work out how to drop the roof while its garaged. I have a problem getting in as the garage has a pillar that cannot be moved - Its bang on where the door is and there is no avoiding it and due to a a medical op last year I have a problem getting in and out of the zed unless the door id wide open. So far the only solution seems to be remove the proper key from the fob and use the door lock to drop the roof as my old E85 - not an ideal solution but a solution nevertheless. I haven't seen a way to program the fob yet. another ordinary, old fashioned key hanging up on a nail in the garage is one way around the problem if the fob cannot be electronically coded.

As mentioned a double tap of open will cause the windows to drop 2/3 to ¾ on door opening. I thought holding the open button down would also drop the roof. The only annoying thing being that the button has to be continually held throughout the operation. This is how it worked on mine prior to installing the smartop but I don’t know if it was an option on mine.

I didn’t know the actual key itself could drop the roof.

Yes, just hold down open on the key and the E89 will do it's transformer piece.

I was told by several on this forum that the drive was more grown up - They were not wrong ! The ride was certainly less harsh and there is no evidence of the tram line problem - It still feels like a Z4 tho! Its early days to be brave in a new car but I think it handles better that my old E85 - Bumps on the road on a corner don't have such an impact on progress .

All told, I'm impressed!

Will try and get some photo's tomorrow! We are having a drive out up to Northumberland (Alnwick and Rothbury) In a convoy of two. The other one is my old E85.

Fingers crossed for a rain free trip!

There has to be a reason why the ad men choose their colours for the cars in their glossy brochures!

I think it's to hook us an reel us in !

Congrats Ronk, like you I park in a confined space and after having the Zed 3 months I've only just discovered you can drop the drivers window when outside the car by clicking open twice (slowly) and then opening the door drops the window, it really does make all the difference between struggling to get in and is now a breeze and far easier :)

Tim.

Thanks  - It certainly does make a differance -the top of the side window has a very distinct point rearwards! I had a neck op some time ago and I'm far from nimble any more!
