What’s the expected engine oil temp for a 2010 3.0 E89 auto please
I’ve always ran my race car about 90-100 deg C with water at 70-80 degrees c
My new to me car is running at 110-120 deg c which seems high

For a N52 engine , this time of year in the UK that seems pretty normal…obviously depends on how / where you are driving…

Modern cars run all coolants over 100c for fuel efficiency reasons when in cruise modes..

I see 120 on hot days and has been no problem.
In fact good to drive off any moisture in the oil.
I read somewhere these engines run extra hot for efficiency.
Reason for the electric pump more control of temperature..

Normal mineral oils may break down at those temperatures

E89s run on synthetic oils which should see 150c+ without issue

However keeping oil temps between say 100 and 120 is good if you can

Helps avoiding cooking all the plastics in the engine and engine bay

Recently returned from my Euro trip down into SW Germany.

Outside temp 39°c and driving at 90 mph - the oil remained at 120°
