E89 20i Remap Booked

So I emailed AXA (they were cool about changing to non-rft).

They don't cover remaps!

Due for renewal in September so might look around at that time, just incase I do do it.

Which insurers are ok with remaps?

LV are cool on re-maps...charge me about 5% extra along with all the other mods..

Haha, LV I was with them when I got my 1st Z4 (e89) back in 2012 and they wouldn’t insure me for theft unless I had a tracker fitted! Tossers! Went elsewhere but they obviously now have different criteria.

I think being a mature old fart living in the middle of nowhere may help..

Strangely when we moved here Black Horse insurance immediately delisted my wife’s Mini...

I have to say that over the last 3 years LV have been consistently in the top 3 for price / policy terms for the Z4, Mini, XC70..

Just checked with eSure and they said they'd increase my premium by £16 a year for the 280bhp Celtic remap.

You arent far from me, where did you get the Celtic remap done and how much was it?

Back from my remap!

Unfortunately I didn't get a dyno done, but can't complain for the price I paid... long story, but willing to share at one of the meets.

It's definitely more pokey; seems to be less difference now between Sport and non-Sport mode, I can see I'll need Sport mode far less; There does seem to be a slight delay when you put your foot down, likely my auto box... I'll need to test more with the paddles.

You can still drive it very conservatively, so I'll work out the mpg... after I have a bit more fun :driving:

Not been pushing it today, but glad I ditched the run-flats prior to the remap!

This is how the engine should come as standard on the 20i!

Bmw wouldn’t sell many 28i’s if they did that

[ref]Boltz[/ref], I'm glad I have it done... I want to use the paddles on my auto box to see what difference it makes. I wouldnt pay much over 300 for the privilege.

It definitely makes a difference and I'm glad I had it done; I'm looking forward to going out now in it :driving:

For me, it doesn't help that I'm in a busy part of town, so it's more difficult to take advantage of the mod.

As with anything... If you can test drive the goods first, there may be a member close to you whose had the remap. Remind me... where are you?

I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

ZedConvert, I am in the West Mids and my car is a manual so anyway I will find out myself in a couple of weeks
