e86M cluster in e85?

Physically the e86M gauge cluster will fit, but anyone know if electronically it will work?

How do you check the oil on a Non-M? Don't some do it in the cluster?

i know bmwz fitted an M cluster in his supercharged 2.2.

You mean oil pressure? The Non-M cluster just has a warning light for low oil pressure.

He means on the facelift there is no dipstick, so I have to press the button the find the oil levels!

On the pre-facelift you will have a dipstick!

OHHHHH.... With my Z having a dipstick (not knowing some didn't have dipsticks), I couldn't imagine he was asking "how do I check the oil level in my engine?"

Someone on Z-post did it recently. They had a friend who was some kind of electronic whiz kid do some work on the PCB to get most of it working properly. I can't remember what he wired the oil gauge up to do.

in germany there is dude with a 3.0 with the M cluster it was in a german bwm magazine, BMW Scene, but no clue how he did it.
