E86 Z4 . Spacesaver or spare wheel options?

Dear forum.
Does anyone know of a spacesaver option for the e86 z4? Any pointers would be appreciated. The other option would be a full size spare. I read somewhere that a 5 series circa mid-noughties might fit the stud-pattern of my e86. Any help/advice would be appreciated in the great escape from runflats :-)

Look for anything in a 5x120 stud pattern and roughly base the diameter on what you have on the car. A spare will be a spare and that can be any size you want as long as it is the right stud pattern and relative off set. Biggest problem you have is with space; the bigger the wheel, the less boot space you have. I carry 2x tins of tyre seal and that's it.

I don't think the 5 series mid-noughties (nor X5/X6) wheels are suitable as the centre bore is wrong (74.1mm vs the standard 72.5mm) so you'd have to carry a hubcentric ring to align it properly.

No need either, as there are plenty of spacesavers from almost every other model that will fit perfectly (e46 Type 12 in 125/80/17 et30).

Hey OP, I have a space saver that will fit. Bought & collected for another forum newbie who then didn't reappear on the forum. Cost £65 from another forum member. Happy to pass it on for the same.

Matt

E46 330i spare, plus an E46 jack. All wrapped in an old towel to stop rattling in a wheel bag in the boot.

I've got pretty much the same, although I have a mini jack which looks very similar. Wheel bag was 7.99 off fleabay and even has a strip of velcro to stop it sliding around!

Hey, I'll just pm you on here now. If you're not that close to me (I'm near Southampton) I think I can get it couriered quite reasonably although I've never actually done it myself, I received wheels a month or so from a member on here who used the service.

I am looking at doing exactly the same and as luck has it, I happened to find a guy in NZ wrecking one. Just wanted to check that this is a 17" and not a 16"? The guys is trying to tell me that BMW spares are pretty much only 16"?

Needs to be a 17" for the 3.0 because of the brakes. Tyre size should be 125/80/R17 I have the same E46 jack set up in my roadster.
