E86 Z4 Manual Coupe

Hi All,

I'm looking to get my first Z4 and want an E86 Manual Coupe with a budget of 6-8K.

I'm not fussy about millage as long as it's been well maintained, I'm not looking at Cat-N's etc.. and no red interiors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Chris

With that budget you should be able to get something not too high miles, IMHO (of course my idea of not-too-high might be different to yours).

Where are you and any exterior colour preferences?

Hi, my apologies, I should have added that! I'm located in Bournemouth and happy to travel around 200 miles for the right car.

I don't really have a preference on the colour either if i'm honest, I've currently got a Red F31 and have spent too much time worrying about scratches and nicks so am looking forward to an older car that won't stress out if a stone hits the bonnet!!

Hi and welcome to the forum Chris.

A manual E86 is an excellent choice and as Fred Smith says you should find a good example for your budget. They came in two trim levels SE and Sport, the latter having M-Sport suspension, steering wheel and the highly desirable M-Sport seats.

BMW were a bit mean with the spec on them with things like Bi-Xenons, heated seats, rear parking sensors, MFSW and cruise control all being on the options list so if any of those are "must haves" bear that in mind and happy hunting!

Welcome

If I were in the market for one, I’d look at this

Look past the dodgy badges etc I think that’s a fairly good car

Mileage being over 100k will put the purists off…

Depends what your long term plans are for the car

Hmm, the world’s worst wheel refurb, rusty arches and lacquer peel. However mechanically sound that one is, it will need some money spent to look nice.

Can I ask why no red interior?
With the right exterior colour the red seats can work really well and they aren’t bright red in some (like mine).
Good luck with your search. I’m sure you will love it when you get yours.
I’m already loving mine after one month of owning it.

LOVE red interior.
The Z4 is a car that seems to have the option ticked on so many examples.
It may limit your search somewhat.

When I put this post up I wasn't sure what responses I would get but you all have been awesome!

I've been digging through the forum and theres just so much so will keep digging and figure out exactly what spec i'm after and let you know what I end up with :)

That car on ebay looks good especially as I want to change the wheels, brakes, suspension etc.. on whatever car I get! With any luck my F31 will be sold this weekend so I can get an E86!!

Honestly, I already have a ginger beard and think a red interior might be too much, having a red car currently is a maybe too much too

Your car does look very smart, they're a body shape that's aged so well!!
