E86 xenon how to tell

Hi, just a quick one Can someone please confirm what xenon looks like on the interior to the right of the wheel is it just one adjuster wheel? Xenon self level but do the halogen lights also self level ie go up and down on start up?

Just got a bit of confusion as I thought it was two adjuster wheels on the switch panel but adverts are showing one on cars advertised as having xenon...specifically e86 cars as that is what I’m looking at. I think I got confused and pretty sure it’s just the one adjuster wheel

Cheers

One adjuster wheel for Xenon. There are sensors attached to the suspension, one at the front, one at the rear that pass info to the self levelling equipment. If you have two wheels then the car was originally supplied with Halogen headlights.

Bob is spot on there about the one adjuster wheel.

But even though my 2nd E86 had 2 adjuster wheels and Halogens, they did seem to "flick" up and down when I turned them on so don't get misled! Cars with OE Xenons also had a warning sticker for high voltages on the slam panel.

Never mind the adjustment wheels, would have thought it was obvious; Xenons give a bright white light, halogens are like a yellow candle!

yes I agree as I went to look at one and he said they were xenons and I was a bit not sure as they were not overly bright lights but in daylight with the sun out it can be deceiving ...plus they went up and down on start up like you say and I was thinking only xenon self level but I couldn’t see the light been bright enough despite daylight,, and yes they do have the sticker

that was the conclusion I came to I just didn’t think they were bright enough but it was the self levelling that threw me a bit as I thought only xenon did it but as mr tidy says the halogen do go up and down

lift the bonnet & over each headlight on slam panel should be a yellow sticker with a lightning strike image , that indicates xenon headlamp fitted
