The screen is 7”, but the unit is almost 13” long.

I never really trust the dimensions from Amazon or Chinese companies for that matter. Still if it doesn't work out I can always return it..

My nephew has a stripped down Boxster with a rear view camera to replace the mirror, it’s legal here, the rest of the car isn’t but the rear view is

Where are you? I’m in Finland - need to check legality of cameras as a substitute. Here, i think it is that you have to have rearview If you have no obstruction and rear window.

Canada.... there must be an automobile agency or testing facility with knowledge of the rules in Finland. As a last resort I also suggest government websites but if anything like here they will be extremely confusing and hard to search.

Yep, gonna have a dig around and see if I can find something.
