E86 suspension eibach bilstein?

Hi guys this is my first post and I apologise because I know it's been covered but couldn't really find an answer. I've had the dreaded abs pump issue, less than 24 hours after picking up the car! Anyway have got it going into the garage next week and sending off the pump to ecutesting for a refurb, so the car will be off the road for a few days. (This forum was a great help in finding out about ecu testing!)
So I've read a bit more about common problems & the main one seems to be the rear springs. They're going to snap sooner or later & I'm thinking I may as well change the whole set while the car is off the road.
Which brings me to my problem. So eibach springs are the ones to go for, but different sellers advertise different drops in height with exactly the same part number, it ranges from 10mm-40mm. I don't particularly want to lower the car, as it's firm enough as it is. (I use this as my daily). Does anyone have the eibach springs fitted? (Part number e10-20-010-05-22) Has it lowered the car? If so is it too low? Currently mine has no problems going over speed humps or mounting curbs and I don't want this to be affected. it doesn't seem that eibach offer a set for my e86 that doesn't change the ride height.
The car has only covered 18k miles, how reliable are the shocks? Should I consider bilstein dampers as well? I read the b6 ones are an upgraded version of oem and don't affect ride height, is this even with the eibach springs?

Sorry I know there's loads of questions there, but I'm hoping someone can give me a short response and clear all of this up.

Thanks

I fitted eibach pro kit springs. They have a listed drop of 30mm, but because mine is a sport it has the sport suspension springs that are already 10mm lower than the standard springs found on non sport variants meaning I got a drop of 20mm.

My Zed's also low mileage at the moment and my springs were showing signs of corrosion where the plastic coating had worn in places. The dampers were absolutely fine. Although the blistien dampers are meant to be a marked improvement on the originals I wouldn't waste the money upgrading the dampers that are most likely fine for more dampers. I'd get a set of coilovers if I wanted to improve the ride and handling. You can choose whatever ride height you want that way as well.
Just my opinion though and although the dampers are at least 9 years old, on that mileage I'd imagine they're ok.

FYI I still clear the most outrageous of speed bumps when going carefully and the car looks so much better for being a bit lower particularly the arch gap.

Welcome to the forum there are loads of knowledgable, helpful people here.

Was this a private sale or a dealer?

Either way I'd be going back to them so soon after purchase for something so costly.

I fitted supplex springs to mine and they seemed to match the ride height perfectly. I have the M Sport suspension and imo the handling is perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. If you're interested in the supplex springs let me know and I can take a look where I got mine.

It was a private sale. I did suspect that he cleared the ecu because the light came on pretty much as soon as I started it the next day. Gave him an ear full and threatened to take it further but after reading a bit I realised I didn't really have a lot to come back at him with because it was private & it had a major service at main dealer 2 weeks prior to me buying it.

Thankfully he got back to me the next day and agreed to pay half the repair cost. TBH I'm fairly happy with that as long as nothing else goes wrong & the repair is only going to cost a few hundred as opposed to a couple of grand thanks to this forum!

Ordered the eibach springs as soon as I read Toms post. Thanks for the info on the supplex springs, hadn't heard of them. I do think a 20mm drop might actually be quite nice as well because there's quite a bit of clearance especially on the rear. I just didn't want a 40mm drop because the front would literally looked slam & I don't want that look.

The problem with the original supplex springs is that 30k miles down the line they will snap again. That's only just over a 2 years based on average mileage.

I'm still on the run flats that were fitted when I purchased the car as the rears were brand new, even so the difference I felt between OEM to Eibach was night and day - much less crashy over rough roads / potholes. I can't wait to wear down these potanzas to improve the ride even more.

Suplex are not OEM and are supposed to not suffer the same fate. They are OEM spec though so like for like replacement.

Yeah it was on the back of this opinion, which I had read several times over in this forum, that I went for the supplex. I wanted the same ride height and dynamics but greatly increased durability (hopefully!)

I take it you have scanned it to confirm its definitely the ABS pump and not just one of the brake pressure sensors? The reason I ask is both faults turn the same dash lights on.

Did a scan and got faults 5DF0 (hydraulic pump intermittent) and 5DF1 (hydraulic unit, pump motor connection faulty). I haven't done any further checks, only read a load of threads and all seem to point to the abs pump. Is there anything else that may bring these faults and lights on? If so, what other checks are there that I could do?
