E86 slow boot blind

My coupe's retractible boot blind seems to be very laboured; to the point where it's slows the boot opening quite a lot.
Is there a way to free them up?

Not knowing the couple boot blind but could it be helped by cleaning the surfaces and maybe applying some silicone spray?
Just thinking along the same lines as when seat belts start retracting slowly.

Mine too - I had the boot struts regassed which helped a face bit, but it's the parcel shelf/cover which holds things back

Thanks all. Yes, I'll maybe start by washing it as it could help the roller part when retracting. Will also look in a bit more details inside each end - see if I cant get some silicone spray in there.

My coupe's boot blind has always required some care and effort to reattach (eight years of ownership), but that's because the retraction mechanism is quite aggressive. I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
