Hi all

Just recently picked up what I believe to be the cheapest E86 in the country! (<£4000) Its a sport, manual, ruby black metallic over beige interior example with a whopping 150K on the clock and a questionable history haha. The car needs a good going over but has good bones. Its recently had both DISA valves replaced, both vanos solenoids, brake lines and some suspension bits and to my surprise, the bottom of the engine is completely bone dry! I look forward to interacting with the community as I dive into Z4 ownership :-)IMG_4062.jpg

Welcome aboard.
150k isn't 'whopping mileage' for the N52. You may want to investigate if the water pump has ever been changed though, and if not, do it!
Bone dry underneath? Oil must have all come out the top. :poke: 🤣

Yes water pump is on the list! Is it normal for N52s to consume a bit of oil? I've heard the CCV system can get gummed up which can cause a bit of oil consumption. As for the light coloured interior. I felt the same way haha but it has grown on me, the m-sport seats help

Wow that is un believable. Even if it went bang after 2 years and you threw it away. That is a lot of car for no money. Love the E86. looks good on those rims too.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

That takes me back to my first Coupe as it was also a Sport in Ruby Black but with Pearl Grey leather, although it had only done 54K! Looking back I should never have sold it, but that's another story.

As others have said miles aren't a problem on these engines, it's just the ancillaries that tend to die so just enjoy it!
