Quick update - taken a deposit today, so car should go Friday and I’ll be back in the market for top down fun. Probably going to regret this in 5-10 years when good Coupe’s are like gold dust and genuine classics... but life’s too short

Good news OP - you can now satisfy your inner hairdresser desires!

I missed my 1st E86 so much I went to view my 2nd 2 days after I took a deposit.

Id say a bumpy ride ahead for you OP  yes the Si roady is a great car & drop the roof on drives & its hard to beat that feeling but the coupe has eye candy appeal that gets under your skin & once owned its hard to forget :)
You are also doing the reverse of what i have for the past 3-4 years in having roadster up till autumn then had a coupe into spring :driving:
Keep us posted how you get on

Whilst I understand exactly what you’re saying, I’m not intending to use the car over winter to be honest.

My partner is a bit of a nervous passenger, so although she’ll enjoy a leisurely drive with the roof down, it’s not quite the same taking a leisurely drive in the Coupe for her. I figure I can ‘press on’ in either without her and enjoy it, but we can enjoy a roadster more ‘together’.

I can enjoy a leisurely drive in the Coupe, but it’s not quite the same as the roadster for a passenger experience.

Martin,

It looks like you may be overtaking Mr Wilks in ownership of the most number of cars in 6/7 years!
You'll soon be flip-flopping between the 2, then an M? 5 years time try an E89?

Enjoy whatever you get next mate... :driving:

He’s the King of Z4 ownership... and a very helpful font of knowledge.

There’s very genuine reason for sale, and I’m hoping my Mrs is going to enjoy more convertible cruising in the spring

Car driven away a few minutes ago, to a very genuine chap who has joined the forum. Couldn’t be happier with the home it’s going to

For what’s its worth, I’ve let this car go for what I feel is a very fair market price for a car in this condition with this history. Some people might think it was too cheap, but it’s where the Market is. I chose to let this car go for what it owed me (other than my time) and as a result it sold within 48 hours of my eBay advert going live.

I’ve enjoyed the time I’ve spent working on the paintwork with my Das 6 Pro ...it’s been a great distraction from some pretty horrible stuff that’s been going on.

I hope you enjoy the car Jamie... and that we might catch up next year if you come to any meets in the Southwest

I couldnt be happier with the car thanks :) I for one am very glad it was at a market value and not higher or i couldnt of bought it ;)

Was an absolute pleasure to deal with a true gent, the car is fantastic and i love it.

I wish you and your family all the best and it would be great to see your new hair dressers car once you get it.. im looking after bertie as hes already had a wash ;)
