Started to debadge the coupe today. Always been in two minds about this in the past (mainly due to owning ///M’s which I like badged up), but have to say, it looks really good IMO without.

Dental floss, GT85 on residue, loyalty card scraper and final polish up. You can still see a very slight outline but they will go after some dedicated detailing time.

Side 3.0 si badges next to go

Just did this on my Monaco blue Roadster, much cleaner without, now I need to take off the 2.0i badges they will never know!

I think the bolas look better than the te37 in these narrower/higher et sizes. The only downside is that the spokes seem to stick outside of the rim to create that deeper look.

Definitely not curb or aero friendly, but it’s a small price to pay!

Leads me to wonder if anyone has ever fitted earlier rear lights to an E86?
Would it need the earlier bumper too?

I’ve always thought this would look amazing. Pre-facelift lights are officially the perfect rear Zed light being close to the original concept car. Think you’d need some jiggery-pokery though as you say, with the rear bumper.

Thanks. Yes, they do protrude a little from the inner dish of the wheel as you move to the outside of the wheel, but not as much as it sometimes looks in pictures. I am constantly in anti-scrape mode though just generally, so hopefully they stay good for a while.

I'm sure I read that with the E85 you have to use the corresponding rear bumper. Not sure the E86 would take an earlier one would it?

Spent a couple of hours today snowfoaming, washing and detailing today, in prep for the weekend and upcoming Goodwood Revival trip.

Being a light beige interior, some of the plastics were a bit scuffed and scratched up - especially behind the drivers seat below the rear speaker/cubby area, where the seatbelt buckle has spent the best part of 15 years bashing into it. So I decided to have a go with a magic eraser and some trim cleaner.

Worked like a charm and as its pretty hard plastic you can really dig in and get rid of it all. Pretty good results I think, and recommended if you have scuffs or scratches on interior trim.

See I've thought about this as well but the only thing that puts me off the look is the reverse light ruining the symmetry of the lights :thumbsdown:

Agreed. But, on my old pre-facelift E85 I used some laminex and a different bulb to sort that issue out.

You’d definitely need to either adjust the light units or rear bumper for them to fit properly too…
