After a year of ownership, the time has come for me to sell my coupe. It was a bucket list car for me, having had my fun it’s time to put the money towards something more serious (house deposit), in addition to starting a new job with a long commute.

This is a forum car, with the last 2 owners being from the z4forum and the previous owner having owned it for 8 years. It’d be great to continue that, so I’m offering it up here first before other avenues.

For me it’s the ultimate spec for an e86 Monaco Blue, Champagne Napa, Piano Trim, ZHP Shift Knob, Paired with CSl Wheels. I’m regularly approached by people telling me how good it looks!

In my ownership it has been stored indoors throughout, and only used as a weekend car and for small roadtrips through North Yorkshire, Wales, Lake District and The Peaks. Covering about 6k Miles.

It currently sits on 111,xxx miles and will increase slightly as it’s still in use.

MOT until 30th Nov - note an excellent mot history without a single advisory in the last 5-6 years.

It’s been very well cared for especially in my ownership - in the last 12 months I’ve:

-Replaced the ABS Unit (at great expense)

-Replaced YAW Sensor

-New Starter Motor (Lucas)

-Oil Filter Housing Gaskets (Elring)

-New Tensioner and Belt (Febi)

-Full oil, filter and spark plug service (ZedShed)

-Replaced the down pipe bolts

-Added Stubby Arial

-New Number Plates

Also spent a some pennies at BMAutosport on:

-Brand new 19” Atomic CSL Wheels

-SportContact7 tyres all round

Totalling £1600+, which have now covered <3k miles.

A marmite modification I’ve done recently is a Backbox delete. For weekend blasts it has been great fun, but appreciate it’s not to everyones taste. Original Back Box is included with the car, or will have been returned to standard.

All the work has been completed by myself or BMW specialists such as The ZedShed, The Workshop (Leeds) and Fixed Automotive (Stockport).

In addition to this; recent work by the previous owner:

The one everyone looks for - Waterpump was replaced with a Pierburg waterpump and Mahle thermostat in Jan 2022 (at 95,000 miles ish)

Major suspension refresh in Oct 2020:

Bilstein b4 dampers

Eibach pro kit springs

Meyle HD - Front Top Mounts

Lemforder - Rear Top Mounts

Meyle HD - Front control arms

Meyle HD - lollipop bush's

Meyle HD - Inner and outer Track rod ends

Meyle HD - front drop links

Meyle HD - Rear drop links

Powerflex - Rear Trailing arm Bush

Pre and Post cat o2 sensors replaced July 2023

Spark plugs replaced with NGK Iridium - ILZFR6D11 - February 2022

Front Discs - Brembo Max and Brembo OEM pads, ATE typ 200 Brake fluid - Oct 2021

It isn’t a perfect car, being almost 20 years old there are a few things that I would be sorting next:

-Valve Cover Gasket (I have all the parts ready to do this but haven’t had the time, Vc gasket, ESS gasket, Valvetronic Motor gasket, full set of new bolts. Included in sale.

-I curbed my brand new wheels on passenger side front! Very annoying, not at all deep, but noticeable.

-Some slight bubbling at the top of the quarter panels, pretty hard to spot at this stage, but worth noting.

-Also some bubbling on the drivers side lower door where I assume has been scuffed on the ground when opening previously.

-Some wear and tear on the driver-side seat and steering wheel given age.

-Rear Parking sensor is abit wacky, but I find you’re sat so far back its not needed.

-Fog Lights need refurbing or replacing; very common on all lci z4s as they’re a flawed design.

The car comes with extensive full service history, endless paperwork with most of the main big maintenance costs covered (Water Pump, Starter Motor, suspension, gaskets) Also comes with a box with a few spare bits I’ve gathered.

I’m looking for £7950 ono.

For transparency, I paid £7500 for the car last year and have since spent a pretty penny on maintenance and the CSL Wheels/sc7 tyres were £1600 alone.

I’m based in Central Leeds, although I am set to move at the end of August due to a new job. I’ll then be based across Nottingham and Swansea.

I’m also on the look out for something fairly cheap and practical/economical as a replacement due my new need to commute - so I would consider a part exchange!

(I will also update the ad with some better pictures and interior when I get chance and its had a spruce up, feel free to get in touch with anything you’d like to see/questions)

Fantastic!
Dare I say, a little too cheap considering the maintenance and suspension rebuild already completed so the new owner has no worry?

I’ll echo that. Really nice car with a very good history (and in a great colour! 😉).

Well priced IMO. Good luck. 👍

It's a lovely colour combo and with so much recent work done it looks like a good buy for someone. GLWTS.

Thanks all, it didn’t stick around long!
Off to it’s new owner at midnight - I’m sure I’ll be back again soon.

There’s still the M itch to scratch one day..
