100% in the market for a good, low mileage E86 lads.

I'm in Scotland so the closer the better. Anyone hears about anything please give me a shout - just missed out on a nice one and the wife is gutted

Have you seen this one? https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=134717

I think Simon is in the Midlands though.

If an Auto would fit the bill "Flyingfifer" has one for sale nearer to you!

Good luck finding one anyway.

Cheers fella but that's a bit more mileage than we are looking for. Lovely car tho!

I think we just missed out on 'the one' and probably on for a long wait...

It would help to know how many miles is “low” bearing in mind these cars are 15 years old now.

Any particular colour, auto/manual, Sport/SE, must-have options?

Shame as it looks like a lovely example.

As Zedebee says E86s are all about 15 years old, so even 100K is low mileage!

I've had 4 cars with the N52 engine now, E86 sold with 62K, E86 sold on 91K, 325i sold on 139K and currently a 330i on 117K and quite honestly the leggier ones drive just as well as the others did.

Based on that I'd focus more on condition and history - possibly colour and spec if you feel strongly about any of those - than mileage.

With only 1,596 manual Si Coupes getting registered in the UK (SE and Sport models) you might need to be patient, but good luck.

We are looking for something in the 50k - 60k mileage or thereabouts.

We'll take it from there and see what pops up.

I'm aware of how rare these cars are lads. This ain't my first rodeo 😉

Not advertised but owner has mentioned the possible sale of his absolutely stunning E86.

Lovely colour, lovely interior and seems to tick your boxes. Would be top of my list if I was looking for one. May be worth contacting Number5 if the figures he’s mentioning here are within yourbudget

I like that, great pics of a nice car. I've sent a pm.

Thanks for the shout!

Looks like that car is off the market lads, so the search continues...

Still looking lads, the wife now has me looking at 2.0 z4 roadsters, don't know how I feel about them to be honest. We loved our e89 3.0 but I know next to nowt about the smaller engine.

Lot more choice tho - e89s aren't exactly popping up all over the place.

She doesn't have anything against them?

I think we are getting a bit silly to be honest - we aren't used to waiting for a new car/bike, lol.

Reckon I've bought and sold more than 30 cars and motorcycles in my time and just about every single one was basically bought before the current car was even sold😅

No compromises - E86 all the way. The money can sit in the bank until the right one pops up.

Fair enoughbut I think that sort of mileage is probably the biggest limitation, given that even the latest ones were registered 13 years ago!

But there will be some that fit the bill, it's just a matter of finding one that is for sale.

Aye, they are out there fella.

Theres a blue one in a dealership in Norwich that would be worth a visit, if it wasn't a 12 hour round trip 😭. Couple of black cars on ebay/autotrader too but that's probably the only colour I'd say no thanks to.

That was the problem I had when I was looking for my first one - I talked myself into Ruby Black because it didn't have black seats!

It probably doesn't help that nearly 400 of the almost 1,600 manual Si Coupes were Sapphire Black. :(

Here's a link to a database a forum member compiled if you want to do some digging:- http://perso.numericable.fr/tonyz4c/index30si.html

This is an option I'm looking at...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-3-0Si-Z4-Coupe-ONLY-28800-miles-/175223717733?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

Not keen on the colour but the mileage is hard to ignore.

Opinions welcome!

Personally I’d go for aesthetics over mileage - I’d hate to walk out to a car I owned and not really like the colour of it. I’d wait for the right colour / mileage car to come up rather than rushing to buy one that isn’t exactly how you want it - as they say “act in haste, repent at your leisure”
If that is your budget you hold all the cards.
