E86 Manual Sport Coupe

Hi

I'm looking to buy an E86 sport coupe, been searching for a while but not found much of interest that isn't hundreds of miles away!
Located in East Yorkshire, near Hull - not much around here unfortunately. Willing to travel a bit for the right car, within reason.

Requirements:

<100k miles
Full service history
Manual gearbox

Colours: blue, red, grey, maybe ruby black.
Interior: Ideally contrast leather & piano black dash.
Wheels: Not so keen on 108's

Must have spec:
Heated seats
Multi-function steering wheel
Parking sensors

Nice to have:
Xenon's

Budget: ~£7000-£7500

Please let me know if you're considering selling, or know of something suitable on the market.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

A manual E86 is a great choice, but then I would say that!

You don't specify whether you want a Sport, but most people have a strong preference for the M-Sport seats that Sport models had as standard.

Just bear in mind less than 1,600 Manual Coupes made their way to the UK (and that includes SEs) so you aren't likely to find too many with your "must-haves"!

I wouldn't worry too much about 108s - wheels must be the easiest feature to change if the car works for you otherwise. That's what I did with my current one.

I've been lucky as both of mine had Pearl Grey leather - I like a contrast too.

Ruby Black looks fantastic when the sun hits it just right, but most of the time it's just black! And if you do look at one that colour don't be surprised if it says it's Red on the V5 - mine did.

Good luck finding the right one.

Thanks for the advice! I'm definitely after a sport, so I've updated the title to reflect that.

I realise that the spec will limit me, and I suppose in reality if a car comes up that meets most of that I'll be flexible. Good point on the wheels, seem to be plenty of sets for sale so swapping out shouldn't be too much of an issue.
Cheers!

I think you have to be a bit flexible on spec. unless you don't mind travelling! But I forgot to say I have seen a few SEs with the M-Sport seats as they were an option, as were the M-Sport suspension and steering wheel.

I live in Sandhurst, Berkshire and bought my 1st from Portsmouth and my current one from Rugby.

It came with recently refurbed 108s, but I wanted to change them before they started to deteriorate - which they always do over time.

I found a set of E89 wheels (295s) on here that I prefer - and the bonus is because the offsets are different they sit further out in the wheel-arches without needing spacers. :D

Have you seen this one? It's got your must-haves, even if it is a bit higher mileage (and on 108s) but at least it's in the North of the country!

Happy hunting anyway.

Yes I had seen that one, the interior and wheel combo didn't interest me too much but now it seems to have been reduced further...
Theres something funny going on with the bonnet gap though, huge on one side over the bumper and then flush at the other side. Looks odd!

There is a bonnet catch on both sides. I’m betting that the bonnet just needs pushed down properly on that side. In fact I raised the very same query with the dealer I bought my Coupe from because the photos looked exactly the same as they do in that advert.

That car seems like a good price to me.

Yes my old one initially always had to press down the near side bonnet bit of grease sorts it

Personally think that is a good example at a good price at a glance

That's good to know about the boot catch on both sides, thanks. Considering taking a look at that one (the price has been up and down in the last 2 days!) but I'm in no rush, happy to wait for a car that ticks a few more boxes

Waiting for the right car is definitely the right approach.

But once I make my mind up I get impatient - when I bought my 1st one I didn't want black, but convinced myself Ruby Black would be fine! And to be fair now and again it looked stunning, but most of the year it just looked black. :(

Waiting on the right car takes time.
I searched for more than 18 months before I found mine.

Me too, waited and searched patiently for almost 2 years.

Was rewarded with a car that has been flawless for 20k miles so far :D

Well I realise I am a long distance from you, but I have just put mine up for sale!

It's Montego Blue with Pearl Grey leather and Cirrus Aluminium trim, but sadly doesn't have heated seats or MFSW although it does have parking sensors, cruise and cupholders!

Have a look at my previous motor.

It's a bit out of your budget but worth every penny.

No longer wanted - I've recently joined the Montego Blue Coupe Club :) The weather has been rubbish so the only picture I have is one in the garage a bit dirty after the drive home. I'll start a newbies thread soon!

Cheers

Congratulations OP - that looks lovely.

Sadly I left the Montego Blue E86 club last Saturday, so you missed out on mine!

Enjoy - they are great cars. :driving:
