E86 headlight unit - passenger side

Went over a pothole this week (in my defence it was nighttime!) and it snapped my headlight mounting on the passenger side so there is now a gap between the bumper and the light.

Does any have a unit in good condition i could buy? I

'm based near Southampton and don't mind collecting if nearby.

Alternatively are there any good aftermarket ones with 'angel eye' effect?

What do you mean by “headlight mounting”? There are four (?) brackets which are part of the headlight moulding and they are fragile, however there are repair kits available which are very effective. Less than £25 compared to £300+ for a replacement headlight unit.

Google “bmw Z4 headlight repair kit”
 
Best taking the unit off and properly inspect for the damage. Chances are it’s just the securing brackets which are all replaceable (as per above).

It looks like it might just be the brackets but hard to see without taking the bumper off, which is a job for the weekend.... The light has also started fogging up, which makes me think there might be more damage than just the clips... finger crossed though!

Will report once i've manage to get a proper look
 
You’re always better off with OEM IMO. Check the light and should just be brackets. If not I’d try repair any other damage (as I think electrically they still work?). :thumbsup:
 
Update on this: was just one of the brackets that had snapped, took Kis's advice and got an OEM repair kit from BMW that cost £12 (so cheaper than anything i could see on eBay/third party sites).
Thought worth noting for anyone else looking to repair snapped brackets.

Nice one, glad it was an easy "cheap" fix! (headlight would have easily been a few hundred pounds) :thumbsup:
