E86 Coupe

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a Z4 coupe. I'm in no great rush and can wait for the right example to present itself, but I am actively looking.

Specifics:

3.0si Sport
<80,000 miles
Manual
Carbon Black, Black Sapphire, or Montego Blue
Light-coloured leather (Champagne, Pearl Grey, Silverstone, etc.)
Piano black trim preferred
Black-top engine

I'm less concerned with cruise control, xenon lights, and the extended speaker systems (just more expensive things to go wrong...).

Budget is up to £12k, and I'd prefer something un-modified, or if modified something only very lightly modified.

Coupe is the way to go IMO - but then I am biased!

If you like Carbon Black and Black Sapphire you may also like Ruby Black - on the odd occasion we get strong sunlight it looks almost Purple. My poor attempt to capture that follows. :oops:

But you have a pretty generous budget for a black or Montego Coupe with up to 80K miles, so good luck with your search - luckily my Montego Coupe with Pearl Grey got to 85K miles today, and has the silver engine cover!

When you do find one don't forget the photos!

I've set my budget so I can afford something with lower mileage, but obviously I'm happy to accept up.to 80k with a lower price. Ruby Black is also very nice, but much rarer. Would love to see pics of your coupe.

That sounds like a good plan! Seeing as they are all 10 or so years old most seem to have done 80K or so!

There is a silver one in a private ad on AutoTrader with 59K for £9,500 in Maidenhead at the moment, which looked like a good deal to me!

Depending where you are based, there is a meet scheduled for 09.00 tomorrow at Newlands Corner near Guildford - there are usually more Coupes there than any other model.

Anyway since you asked here are a couple of photos of my Montego Blue one.

Sadly it isn't - it was replying to a post like yours that caused me to sell my Ruby Black one and then have to find another. I'm not doing that again! :lol:

No, mine was never advertised! I sold it in 2016 to someone who joined the forum and posted a message saying he was looking for one. :)

He was more into detailing than me and won the "photo of the month competiton" so it appeared in the 2017 forum calendar in July. :thumbsup:
 
Still on the hunt for my ideal coupe. A few options around at the moment but haven't found the ideal spec yet. Anyone seen anything especially interesting? I don't want red or blue interiors....

Resurrecting an old post here, but due to a shock redundancy and an impending wedding my search was put temporarily on hold. However, I put my E46 up for sale last week and don't want to only own a Fiat Panda for long, so I'm actively back in the market for a Z4C. Preferably sub-60k miles, up to £12k, prefer Carbon Black or Monaco Blue, but will consider other colours. Also prefer interiors which aren't red or blue. Has to be manual and in good knick. What's about?
 
There's a lovely sounding 09 reg on autotrader, 46k, think its carbon black, 2 owners £12490ono.
My hunt is also on going!!
 
Hi OP, I just put mine up last week.

Ruby black, and yes it’s red leather but suits the car.

Based on the brand new tyres and nearly new winter tyres I don’t think I am too greedy on price.

I just can't handle the red leather, but a really nice car! You're a bloody long way from me, otherwise I'd be tempted to at least have a look!
 
UPDATE: I sold my E46 tonight. It was emotional to see it driven away by someone else, but it just means I need to fill the void with a zed coupe! The hunt continues!!

Good news, although I lnow your pain as I sold my E46 in February!

I consoled myself by looking at the E91 I replaced it with - let's hope you find an E86 you like soon. :thumbsup:
