Morning all,

Wondering if there are any knowledgeable and handy members in the Guildford/Surrey area who would be kind enough to help me fit the cruise control to my 06 coupe! I've got the loom kit and the stalk - I'm just nervous of hacking it about myself and getting it wrong!

Beer tokens and a steady supply of bacon sandwiches and excellent coffee/tea will be provided!

Thanks in advance!

I got a quote from BMW High Wycombe for a retro fit and was £481 inc VAT.

How much was the stalk/loom kit?

I could offer to do it with... but have NOT done it before myself. However, have instructions and was contemplating doing myself to mine at some point.

£481!!! Jeeze!

Have seen many a write up on this Ed so I'm sure there's someone on here that would help.
Whilst I'd personally be useless it apparently isn't that involved.

It's not a major drama technically just fiddly taking all the trim off. I could be passing next Sunday depending on where you are.

Thanks for the responses chaps - Scooba I'm just south of Godalming - what sort of time would you be going past?

I'm not against doing it myself, I just really really don't want to cock it up!

My trip just takes me on the M3, I'd probably be passing after lunch. If you're just worried about the wiring I can walk you through everything else and just do that.

The fitting of the stalk is a piece of cake took me less than 15 minutes with a dremel as the line to cut round is already marked out on the cowel, no idea about fitting the loom as mine came pre wired

That's the fiddly bit! Two connections to be made at the LCM loom and a single wire into the engine bay. Almost all the footwell trim has to come off.

Evening chaps, just a quick one to thank you for your kind offers :) In the end Will at TWG Automotive in Camberley fitted the Cruise today for a very resonable price :D So good to have cruise now - it was heaps easier to behave myself on the Hog's Back! Will has also programmed a few other decent features into the car such as 3-flash indicators, alarm chirp on lock, seat adjust to Position 1 on unlock, and follow-home lights :D

Oh and a cheeky alignment adjust now the car has had a couple of months to settle onto the B12s!
