E86 coding extras

Yup - I use NCSDummy. Fantastic bit of kit.

Another program worth mentioning is PASoft's BMW Scanner... makes it possible to "software update" your modules.
Seems like you can take a copy of the LCM from a facelift, and then upgrade a pre-facelift LCM to match.. giving you all the options that are "hidden" in the pre-facelift version.

Yes I always use ncs dummy,

How exactly three bling option is called?

This is getting way off topic.
I am trying to find out how to get the auto mirror folding going.
You can start a separate thread for triple blink ;)

How do you set the AEs as welcome lights with the intravee? In the Light Control I only have Blink Count and AEs as DRL(on or off but nothing happens with either setting).

Have you got the latest firmware 7045 as this has welcome & exit light settings, do a search as I have posted this in another topic.

Auto mirror folding doesn't work by coding or Intravee. The E46 has some additional mirror control modules that the E85/86 don't have.

If you have the car set up as the right on in the Intravee you'll get pot luck on light control. I could only get the centre rear brake light to function via the Intravee which was pointless so I turned it off again. I'll update again and see if that's fixed it and if not, maybe I'll do a trace from turning the sidelights on.

For AE upgrade your intravee to the latest version.

Set to unlock "L Main and R main" and they will light up.

I have mine set to do the AE, and rear lights and nunberplate light on unlock and works every time.

Light controls work fine on my car, car select any combo for welcome & exit lights. remember on intravee vehicle select option - z4 pre-facelift you need to pick E46, for facelift you need to select E46 / z4

Yes I have the car setup as E46/z4 as it is facelift but it still only shows me the two options mentioned before.
Perhaps the FW is out of date and needs a flash.

Yep, you need the latest firmware.

Or you simply need to acknowledge the disclaimer to enable the extras...

I'd rather be sending from an iPhone on Tapatalk than this piece of crap Android device...

Well since I have gotten into the extras menu, I have of course accepted the warning.
The options are just not there.
I think the current FW is 6945 or something like that so I will try updating this weekend.
After the update do I need to re-enter all my settings or does that get saved?

Thanks I have all the FW files now but I could only find guides on how to use the intravee on that page, not on how to actually perform the FW upgrade itself.

A summary of what you need to do is :

- download the firmware and downloader program.
- unzip both to a folder on your laptop.
- connect the USB/Serial device to your PC, with most version of Windows the drivers will be loaded automatically.
- connect the Serial port end of the adapter to the Intravee and turn the car ignition to the accessory position.
- run the downloader program.
- Select 'File' 'Comms Setup'. From the list of ports select the one that matches the device you added, valid ports should have a description by them.
- Press 'Return' a couple of times, you should see the "Ready>" prompt, if you don;t then you have probably not select the right port number, go back and check.
- Select 'File' 'Open Firmware' and select the .blf file.
- Select 'File' 'Program Firmware'.
- wait until the small progress bar has finished, you should see some messages from the Intravee that indicates it's re-booted.

Job done.

Thanks that worked just fine.
FW updated to 7045 :)
But unfortunately the Aes still do not work as welcome lights :(
I have set L & R Front Side Light, L & R Back Side lights, Centre brake light & Licence plate light.
All work except for the angel eyes. If I change it to the fogs then it works fine.
Is this normal for the xenon lights?

Hmm. I need to try this.

Are you saying the AE's come on if you set it for the fogs to be on, or that the fogs work?

As an M owner with no fogs and unable to get this to work, that almost sounds like a work around...

Just tried mine and set front side light for exit lights, first go the fogs came on with them, the fogs were set to come on before, repeated lock and unclock and AE light up on exit only.

Set the MAIN lights not side lights for the AE on the facelift.

Works perfect for me.
