E86 coding extras

I was able to get my Roadster to do three blink, and one-touch up and down on both windows. I was also able to get the softtop closing and opening from the remote. I left the seat belt chimes on since it is the wife's car.

I do not remember what I changed. I will have to go back and look when I have time. Maybe this weekend.

Cheers Ship, I've heard from many it's possible (just like the roof) which is annoying as I've fitted a gaptech

If you could let me know/any screen shots, I'd greatly appreciate it.

RJS can you keep me posted on how you get on with this, would also love to code a few things but woud like to know how easy it is as i dont want to break my Z4

It's not difficult, I've had a bit of a play before. Just need to get the new software and I'll see what I can suss out.

Update.
So I have installed the intravee which has let me enable options 1,7,8 from the extras menu.
I have also bought the BMTechnic cable and was wondering if it is possible to do:

3. The car has factory auto-fold mirrors. Can I code the car so the mirrors can be folded/unfolded from the key?
4. Code the mirror to auto-dip when when reversing?
5. Code the angel eyes to turn on when unlocking the car.
6. Display the cruise control speed on the cluster (currently no visual indication is given)

If the mirror ones are possible according to shipkiller, I am most interested.
The mirror function did not work with the intravee and also, how can I set AEs to turn on with unlock from intravee?

Triple blink only works with facelift or via intravee
Mirrors cannot auto fold due to the z4 hasn't got the memory modules like the e46.
You can set any light combo via intravee for welcome and exit lights.
Until ship killer lets us all know how he did the extras it's not possible.

I want 3x blink,

ffs , how many time you need to repeat that it only works on newer zed's .

that depends... I mean, if you listen to what ShipKiller has said, he got it to work on his pre-facelift Z4, and there's zero reason not to trust that man.

Sorry, I should probably say: ffs, how many times do people have to repeat that ShipKiller got it working? ;)

and here we go....

not quite straight forward as coding, but obviously doable :)

Another great option (again, not coding, but damn cheap and easy enough to build):

Think I may go down this route myself at the end of the month... pretty straightforward looking imo :)

In other words not possible whit just a coding .

that specific mod? no. obviously that's not possible with just coding.
But, like I and he said, the impression is that ShipKiller managed it.

Plus, I see no reason why it wouldn't be possible. There are plently of large nop gaps in the modules, so it'd be relatively straightforward to code in a triple flash routine.. then you'd just need to decompile the existing code until you find an injection point and voila.. 3 flash. You could probably just take a dump from one of the facelifts and find the insertion point and triple flash routine from that and simply flash it into the pre-facelift module.

Something I can do right now? nope.. I'm still attempting (and struggling) to decode the GM5 module.
Something I can probably do in the future? I can't see why not. Machine code / assembly doesn't scare me, and at the end of the day, that's all we're dealing with here.

The question was, can it be simply done whit ncs expert. The answer is NO

I'd love the auto dipping to work... just got a copy of NCSExpert and waiting the arrival of my ebay cable to have a play.

How many times do I need to say this:

shipkiller - man of many talents said:
8. Triple signal activation.
YES, does not matter what year the car is made. I enabled this on my 2003.

And, for reference, I don't see ANY mention of NCS Expert in the first post.. All I see is a question asking if stuff can be coded to an E86.
No mention of how.

How's about you wait for others to post how they've achieved it before insisting it's impossible
Or perhaps be more open minded and try and find a solution to a common request - rather than just say it can't be done.

Actually, I think I'm going to try my damnedest to get this to work on my '03 tonight - JUST by coding.

Doesn't work on my car, or any others I've tried.

You all that are having issues with the coding (NCSExpert), are you using a separate piece of software called NCSDummy?

The new version is absolutely awesome and make 99% of any changed to a modules software (coding) a breeze. You use NCSExpert to pull the coding out of the software, and it saves the data to a file. Then you use NCSDummy to open that file. It does the German to English translations. You select what you want to change and then NCSDummy to save the modified file so NCSExpert can write that modified data to the module.
