E86 alternate front grille types

Howdy, I quite like this design of grille on recent BMW models. Does anyone know if there are alternate grill designs like this available for the E85 E86 models?

There is a set of mesh grills, can't off hand remember who sells them

I think the mesh grills are made by Zunsport. They do them in either black or silver finish and also do a matching lower grill....

I do remember seeing double vertical slatted grilles fitted to an E85/86 Z4 (I think it was a coupe), but I'm not sure whether they were custom made or available to buy.

They certainly looked very nice.

First set in this thread would look pretty epic on an e85/6 but I just can't see why ANYONE would want that Zunsport shite :sick2:

Those grille's do look really good. I have just fitted the Salberk gloss black grille's (fleabay, £57ish) to my Roadster and I'm very happy with the result. I like the flush vanes/slats rather than the recessed ones of the original. If I had a different colour car though I would probably want either a body colour finish or maybe graphite/carbon rather than black.

They look good! Is it like a new insert that fits into the existing frame (be it chrome or black), or is it one piece?
Also, I painted my grilles last week. I painted them silver, then a light dusting of BMW sparkling graphite over the top. I still may go a touch lighter.....

Hi, yes they're one piece and just a push fit the same as the originals. I tried to upload a couple more pictures but I can't resize them on my phone 🤔...

They seem pretty decent quality and now I've started looking, they're quite similar to those on more recent BM's.

I haven't seen the double fin version for the E85/86 yet, but I know they're doing them for other BMW models like E46, E9x, E60, etc. Only a matter of time before there's an E85/86 version I guess.

I'm still looking for a gloss black with chrome surround solution. Doesn't seem to be available without painting the oem ones. The Z4M ones etc are matt black.

Yes, popping out the OEM ones for a respray would be quite easy. You could achieve a great finish with some care.

I modified a set. Ended up looking like this 51A4885A-50BA-47E5-99E6-4075E368D9C2.png
That's nice. Did you remove every second slat from an aftermarket set?
