E85 z4 brake upgrades

Hi all.

I'm looking to modify my 3.0si z4 but want to start on the brakes first - any reccomendations on the cheapest most effective way to do this.

Thanks

A decent set of discs and pads will suffice unless you are going to be tracking the car.

As standard the fronts are 325mm, which is more than big enough for a car of this weight for road use.

This. :driving:

I’d leave the discs and lines as they are and just upgrade the pads. Performance Friction carbon metallics for the win

Only advice I can give is don't delay if they need doing. Just replaced mine the day before some idiot decided to do a right turn across me, needed all the brakes I cud find to miss him. I was doing 50 mph speed limit at the time. Quick pant change was needed afterwards.

As said, the the 3.0 Si had bigger discs than earlier 3.0i......
Start with Performance pads, and a decent set of grooved/slotted discs and braided brake lines if you want to go further.
EBC are well priced,or Brembo for not much more.

Just bought a new set of front Brembo grooved front rotors and pads, waiting to install this week. 210 with sensors from carparts4less, decent price for Brembo a I think. I use to buy ebc for my 350z, but they double the price of Brembos

Lots of good advice and sensible suggestions here

I upgraded my brakes a while ago using part of a kit I had for my E36 but sold the car before I had chance to fit them.

Porsche Boxster S calipers with E46M3 CSL discs and fitting kit, matched with standard E85 3.0 rear calipers and vented discs

I know it’s a bit over the top, but considering I had the parts laying around it made sense to do it. If I hadn’t already got the Porsche calipers I would’ve gone with the 3.0 front setup with good pads
