As per title, I'm in the hunt for -

Z4 (facelift only please)
3.0l
Manual
Roadster
Sport, or well spec'd with M seats etc
Mileage below 100k
Full service history
Standard/OEM

Will consider different paint colours. Condition and maintenance history are my main priorities.

Budget £10k as an absolute max.

Based South East, but will travel sensible distance for the right car.

Thanks in advance,
Tony

Hi Tony

Mine is for sale. Fits your criteria but some of the servicing was DIY. Plenty of details on my advert.

Hi and welcome Tony.

I think there are a couple for sale on here at the moment, but good luck finding the right one - there aren't too many 3.0Si Roadsters around.

This looks and sounds like a really good car. I think your "but some of the servicing was DIY" is unfair to the car :) Lots of dealership history around that portion of DIY servicing.

Thanks - just thought I’d mention it as it was questioned on my thread.

The car is a genuine, clean example - with major components recently replaced, so should not have any expenses for the new owner for the foreseeable.

Thanks for the response Saj.

I had seen your ad when browsing. The car looks an absolute cracker and certainly fits the bill for what I'm looking for.

You're a fair trek away from me (5hrs each way!). I will see if anything comes up a little closer to home, but if not then i'll definitely get in touch.

Thanks again,
Tony

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I know they can be a tough car to find, particularly within my parameters. I didn't find anything suitable on the usual sites (autotrader/ebay etc), so I thought i'd try my luck here.

Fingers crossed!

The drive home would be fun :driving:

I travelled 250 miles by train to buy it, from Royal Tunbridge Wells! But that was pre Covid19

No problem. Good luck with your search.

Still looking for a Zed - drop me a message or comment if you have one for sale that fits the bill.

Thanks you

Given Mr Tidy's comment about availability, and your own admission that saj77's car looks ideal, I think you should consider a video call for a virtual walk around the car and a few more pointed questions.
Yes 250 miles is a long old drive, but as these cars become older/rarer/kept long term by enthusiasts, we are all going to have to accept that travelling for the right one just has to be done.
Our cousins over the pond would be reading this and wondering why you're not prepared to 'just pop around the corner' and have a look. :D

For £9.975 on 65k id be wanting the factory headunit  £2k overpriced in my view & the blinding pics aren't helping :(

Thank you for the reply.

After struggling to find anything closer to home that matched my expectations I did revisit the possibility of travelling to see saj77's car. After weighing up the service history situation, I opted to pass on it. Its not that I don't believe that the home servicing was completed, its more a case of knowing should I ever need to sell it i'd have to go through the same process of explaining the history, and I would really prefer not to do that.

I absolutely agree with you regarding the need to travel for a decent car, its almost a given nowadays. And as I stuck in my original post, I would most definitely be willing to travel for the right one!

For the best part of 10k I would expect the car to be exceptional across the board, including pretty low mileage. I agree, this car is overpriced for what it offers.

have you seen this one??

Thanks for the link.

I did take a look at that advert earlier. The quality of pictures was a bit naff, no real images of the interior and the boot/underfloor boot appear to need a good hoover which isn’t a great omen for the rest of the car.

The write-up has some useful details but lacks a lot of information I’d like - including the original spec, where the car was serviced (bmw/specialist/independent), tyres/wheels and even number of former keepers. Also a shame to see the cosmetic issues were not sorted.

I often steer clear from bidding adverts on eBay as a general rule. I opted to rule the car out.

Thank you for the link.

I have enquired about this car, and i'm just doing the usual history checks etc right now.

If its a decent, genuine motor I may take a drive up there to view, we will see!

Thanks for the link mate.

Car looks lovely, shame its a coupe - for me it really must be a roadster.
