I have the 2.5se but fancy the manual si.

You are getting you models specs messed up with engine designations by the sounds of it.

You can get both the facelift 2.5i and 2.5si in both SE and Sport trim.

Hi Paul - Must say that looks like a nice motor, but can you clarify a couple of points for me? I've had a look at the MoT history and it suggests that the front discs are warped - have you noticed any symptoms i.e. is that a fair assessment. Can you clarify what was carried out at the 83K service and was it done during your ownership? Ta.

Hi Garibaldi

Thank you for the interest in my car. And sorry for the late reply, I don’t seem to have notifications for this forum. I’m not at home with the history right now so I will check all the details later today but I think the discs were replaced since the last MOT advisory concerning the disc “distortion”. I’ve certainly not noticed anything since I’ve owned it which is from April last year. I’ll message back tonight with more ok.

So the discs and pads were replaced in 2015 and the most recent service at 83k was an oil flush and filter service along with new front wishbone bushings. I can’t see any receipts for discs being replaced since the mot showed up a “distortion” however I have not noticed any trouble with the brakes. Hope this helps

guys, is my advert putting people off in some way that i'm missing? i would say it is well priced, there are no faults and the car is clean but not having success selling.is it just a tough market to sell in? any advice.

cheers

Have you been trying to sell since last August? No interest at all?

I think that most buyers would be looking to the 3.0 but a well priced 2.5 shouldn't be that hard to shift?

Edit. I think some people see an advert that has been active for a long time and assume there's something wrong that has prevented the car selling. May be worth a new, refreshed, advert and try a few different sites? Look at what others are asking and find out the trade value or WBAC price.

Per some of the other threads on here, dealers are starting to push for higher prices for these, and not just on a seasonal basis.

I did advertise it in August yeah, it’s been on eBay and autotrader numerous times but no real interest. It’s a good car, and there’s no faults, leaks, and drives superbly. As for the WBAC site, they priced this at £3300 or lower which is ridiculous.

It may be a nice example but a long standing advert always makes people wary, wondering why its sticking so long.

As you've asked, I'd say you may be a tad optimistic with the asking price. Whilst its' nice the spec isnt great. Within seconds of the advert I've noticed that it has no heated seats, no MFSW, no Sat Nav.

Ive just sold a better spec'd 57 plate 3.0Si for a bit under the £6k I advertised it at if that gives you a gauge. I think they have taken a tumble this year.

Also, advertising at £5400 I'd assume your looking for £5k (Thats what I'd try if I came to look) Therefore if you're not getting calls, why not try at £4995, so that you come in on the searches under the £5000 mark, but then stick firm at the £4995 once somebody has actually come to look at it and seen it in the flesh. Your first task is to get the phone ringing , then people stood in front of it. Agreeing a price is stage three.

Another point is that when advertising on the Forum, you are selling to the educated and open to the critics. If I were you, I'd re-advertise it with fresh photos and put it on Auto-trader or Ebay, where you may get someone less aware of the model variations, specs, typical problems and just sees it for what it is. - A Convertible BMW Sports car ...

Just my thoughts !
Good luck.
