E85 V8?

Any E85 V8 builds on this site, or in general? Very little online or on youtube.

Have an insane V8 fetish that just won't quit... I'm obsessed! ...And the fact that they're going to be pretty extinct on anything other than ultra rare hyper cars soon is making me even more obsessed with owning one asap.

Now I'm just daydreaming, no intention of doing this to my e85, but curious if anybody fitted a V8 to their Z4, particularly an M62TUB44 (from a facelift e39 540i for example). Love that engine despite its' flaws. One of the nicest sounding V8 lumps along with the S62B50 from the e39 M5.

I'm sure it must have been done - but why have a V8 when you could fit a V10?

Yea I was thinking it must've been done but there's so little online!

The V10 is a mighty fine configuration, but a V8 is what really stirs my soul... There's just nothing like it!

I've spent all summer looking for an e39 540i ahead of my baby's arrival, I kept waiting and hoping for so long that I literally left it to the very last day to pick up a car with rear seats - went for an e39 530i in the end, fantastic car and was owned by another forum's members for 10 years + so was quite pampered throughout its' life..... If only it had that V8 though....

Some photos to keep the photo police happy :D

i so agree !
Great car, and a growling six under the bonnet was never a bad thing eh

Agree, the e39 is the definitely one of BMW’s finest moments!

Just such a solid and timeless car!

Shame that project was abandoned, I’d say it was expensive using an S65 rather than a non-M V8.

You also need to factor in the weekly trip to the tyre fitters for new rears!

Just fit a supper charger. More power less weight, than the V10 What's not to like.
Unless some one has manage to squeeze a super chagred V8 or V10 in. :o
