E85 tweaks and checks

Hi,
Apart from the obvious service items such as oil, filters, brakes etc what other regular checks/replacement/cleaning/lubrication should I carry out on my Z4. eg Maf sensor clean, ensure roof drain passages clear, DISA etc?? Cheers

A bit more detail would help - like which engine/transmission and what mileage.

For example BMW claim the transmission is sealed for life, but many of us feel that fresh fluid is never going to be a bad idea - especially when you see the colour of what comes out!

All fluids, not just the engine oil. Gearbox, diff, brake fluid and even the coolant, if it's a few years old. If your car still has the clutch delay valve fitted, I'd bin it, but bleeding the clutch so that you have fresh fluid to wash the debris out of that nanny valve, can improve the clutch action.

Gearbox fluid change is always worth doing and the Diff, BMW fill for life really means as long as the warranty lasts from when it was sold, you will note an improved gear change with new oil in it. Personally I would leave the Maf alone if you currently have no problems with it, cleaned mine and it killed it despite using correct Maf cleaner.
No harm in pulling the Disa out to inspect it just be careful with the gasket when you take it out, check its not in the process of falling apart.
Check the strength of the antifreeze with a test tool, if weak then consider a flush and refill to correct strength ensuring you bleed the system to get any air out. Always worth doing these things then you know exactly whats in the car.
